Mr. Maibach is such a great man, and does so much for Orrville high school. Always enjoyed that luncheon.

Hope these boys really take that game to heart and come out on a mission this week it's gut check time. A win over Wooster is always good, but if we can bounce back strong and win soundly to move our streak to 6....this will be a HUGE win for us heading into the playoffs. It will allow us to get our confidence back....who knows maybe we will have our Red Rider swagger and control the game from the start.

Let's go Riders...we still love ya! haha

Well, I'm sure you're aware that that's an old saying......and I am old. BUT, your comment made me think about where this came from and it's because the quarterback directs the attack and is the ultimate responsibility as to what happens. Anyhow, I looked up the definition and, courtesy of MSN Encarta on-line:

Definition:

1. viewer who criticizes conduct of games: somebody who is certain that he or she can make better calls than the coaches or players while watching a competitive sport on television

2. giver of unwanted advice: somebody who offers unwanted advice about how to do something or tries to supervise an activity without being asked

LMAO! Perfect! Touche'!

I also thought about deleting some of my posts from last night, but, upon further review, said "to heck with it" and let them stand, because that's how I really feel. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, there are some truths said.

BUT, it really is all "mute" (as some like to say!) and because we are now into week 10, it doesn't matter.

What would really suck is if we make the play-offs and end up losing our last 3 games. That is a point to go on for this week, imo.

Go Riders!

Well I definitely fit the armchair qb description to a tee. I really never felt bad about it until it has become clear this chat room does not like/tolerate anyone being an armchair qb or better yet seems to always think the comments should be taken as personal attacks. Criticizing the decisions of the coaching staff/ player decisions has been to me and always will be limited to football related decisions nothing else. I believe they are all great community/family involved individuals and never question that. I always was under the impression the purpose or at least majority purpose of this forum was for armchair qbs to vent. I erased my posts so those offended can be at ease. The content of the posts seemed correct to me. I'm not sure what the point of the forum here is. If you can only say positive comments and very very limited criticism at best it loses my interest because I don't really want to post about what to eat, where to eat or bad grammar in a post or limitless reflection on Rider football history. Until I read that being an armchair Qb in this forum is acceptable I guess most of my typing is done. I'm sure my critics will be more than happy. Great guys on this forum that post I know many of you. We have had a few good series of armchair qb ing that were fun. I guess there is a fine line at what is over the top when posting.

Go Riders.....wow I could not of written that better myself!!

That is exactly how I feel as well. Besides you, BRF, and Old Rider, nobody wants to talk about the negative or even acknowledge that we do have problems...all across the board! Most the guys on here are trying to make friends, make people laugh, or just too affraid to step on some peoples toes. This is a free forum where you can post anything you really want to within the rules. Those rules allow you to talk like an Armchair QB...but most of the guys on here our affraid to offend anyone. I could careless what you think of my posts, and I don't really care if you think I am wrong..you have your opinion..just like I have mine! But to all those guys that are here to please everyone and "cheer" for the riders...WE are not that good this year, our coaching has been questionable, and you need to take your Orrville glasses off and see the reality. Because all the criticism that has been mentioned by BRF, Go Riders, Old Rider, and myself is true, get out of denial.

Go Riders I encourage you to not let these guys get to you....trust me I have taken so much heat since I have come on here, but you don't see me stepping down.....and I won't. We have our opinions.... we have the right to post them on here... and don't be affraid to offend someone. They are "big boys" and can deal with it.

To all the Orrville supporters/posters...
All of you are great guys, and I really do respect all of you. I also enjoy chatting it up on here with you, but some of the people on here really need to open your eyes and see what is really happening while not getting offended by talking about it.

Im just ready for an Orrville football team to take the field with some energy and swagger that says "we are Orrville and you aren't going to beat us"...but it's not there!

We are very "dull" right now in our approach to the game and our itensity when we come onto the field is lame as hell.

I know that losses bring out the negative in anything, but some things are controllable ...and team discipline, hard work, and a desire to be your best...IS!

100% correct!

We just think cause we have a few big recruits and we are Orrville that we can go out and win games.....bs! You gotta go out and PLAY to win the game, you don't just show up and win.

Just for fun I looked at all our playoff opponents from years past and how a few are doing this year.

Fostoria 0-9 ( they join Genoa's new league next year, definitely ups their schedule :) )
Benedictine 2-7
Aquinas 4-5
Loudonville 3-6
Ready 4-4
Warren JFK 3-6 and down to D6
Van Wert 4-5
Bath 4-5
Rayen No longer exist
Desales 4-5 #8 in their region
Orange 3-6
Revere 3-6
Wauseon 4-5
Valley View 5-4 #12 in region
Liberty 1-8
Tusky Valley 4-5
Mooney 5-3 #2 in region

Amazing how some programs have fallen so our 6-3 disappoints us, but I would have been happy in preseason with a 6-3 season and only 2 games that we were really bad but in the rest of them, sometimes as fans we expect perfection out of 16 to 18 year olds, but how many 10-0 seasons come along. We are so used to the winning tradition we can't stand to lose any games, but we have to realize that every year we start over and have to rebuild that tradition it doesn't just happen. I hate losing probably more than most because I am not used to it in the teams I support like Orrville and Ohio State among others. I am not an Indian or Browns fan or maybe I would be more used to losing over the years. But I really hate to lose to triway or wooster more than anything else, so.............. ...GO RED RIDERS, BEAT WOOSTER :)

Went to Maibach's football luncheon on Sat. and heard a great talk by Reggie Williams (59) who encouraged our players to give it their all this week. Good start for the team this week to forget the last game and get focused on Wooster.

Looking at the list of struggling teams Rider1 listed reminded me of 10 years ago when we had back to back 2-8 seasons. Man, that was rough. I think I actually was more of a booster to those teams as I am now.

As far as the arm chair QB business, did I read anywhere someone saying you can't be one on here? I don't think so. So, Go Riders, stop feeling sorry for yourself and get back to your old self! And when I end my posts with "Go Riders!", I am not talking to you! Maybe I should say "Let's Go Riders!" ;-)

I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I am not being critical or personal about our QB. I think he is doing a good job under the circumstances. I AM being critical of the lack of available tools we have that are not being provided to him to use.

Let's Go Riders!

Don't let them win Go Riders....get back on here and be YOU, and post whatever you want because you have the right to do that!

BRF, as for that last sentence, I am confused by it?
Did you mean to say you are critical of the lack of players being used. OR
Did you mean to say we are not letting him get the ball to those players?

Clear that up for me friend! haha

You can call me whatever you want...armchair QB...whatever. When we have the ball inside the 20 yard line I want Monheim and Davis in the back field...period. I want to run power and have play action pass off of that. Really I would want to see that all game long, but I am trying to be broad minded. We seldom used Monheim and Hoobler last year and every time we did....every time....we accomplished the goal. I think the exact same thing this year.
