Well given my history, I think anyone who believes God is responsible for anything is absolutely delusional. Plus, since religious believers are extremely one-sided(God can do no wrong!), this can't be an act of God, but an act of the devil, which is just as equally made up.

What happened was an accident, and I'm almost positive BP will be in deep trouble and will likely be paying gobs of money to resolve the entire situation. Of course 5 years from now everyone will forget about this accident and begin blaming oil companies for price gouging(oh the irony).

I don't believe God is ruining our ocean... BP is doing that by ignoring safety regulations. Its called "freewill". I'm sure that if God was in charge this would have never happened. Freewill can get ya... just ask Adam and Eve.

Who's free will causes tornadoes? Famines that cause thousands of deaths? House fires that kill little kids before their lives have hardly begun? Horrific automobile accidents that wipe out entire families? Dictators who murder millions to forward their own perverse aspirations of dominating the world stage..people like Hitler, Stalin, Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, and all the others who have cut a bloody swath through history?
I think the excuse that God permits people to have "free will" and make their own mistakes is a bunch of (fill in an appropriate descriptive term). My God is a kind and benevolent God. Certainly Not a hateful and vengeful God who punishes people for their trangressions by murdering them. Particularly small children who have never even had the chance to live.

BP is a huge corporation interested in making money. Sometimes they attempt to cut corners. When they do, things happen. Usually bad things. I do not believe that God has anything to do with it, but in my simplified religious upbringing, I am constantly amazed that our kind and caring God doesn't step in and say "Wait a second here BP, for your carelessness, I command you to wander aimlessly in the desert for a certain number of years until such time that you have felt remorse for the horrible suffering you have caused millions through your careless management". Since God never seems to do that, it makes me wonder sometimes about God.

Since "God" supposedly created everything I guess ya could say he's to blame?

Which regulations did they ignore?

God was/is aliens.

But if God was real in the way that a Christian would tell you, this could have been an act of God. It's a joke for people to give God credit for anything good but say it wouldn't be God if anything goes wrong. But maybe IF God was real, this would be his way of telling us to stop being fucktards and stop using oil. Religious people usually aren't smart enough to think that way, which is why all religion does is hold everyone back.

And I think people like you don't have much of a clue either. I'm not trying to give BP much credit, but this is the nature of the beast--shit goes wrong sometimes. There is an engineer in my family that has access to info about this because he's trying to help work on a solution (A LOT of people are) and in those circles, it's very clear that this was just an accident and maybe a bad design at worst. Not something sinister.

Not one single "safety regulation" violation has been identified as of yet. That is not to say that eventually maybe hundreds will be identified...but not yet. Sometimes when complex mechanical & petroleum devices are in operation, accidents happen and extremely bad consequences occur. God didn't have a thing to do with this, the same as He won't have a thing to do with rectifying the problem or cleaning up the mess.

i wasn't implying that BP did it on purpose, just that it was not an act of god. it was BP, not God, that caused this.

OHHH. Ok, got ya. My bad.

But my point still stands, you just aren't one of those people lol.

Although I also disagree that BP "did this" in the way that those words role off the tongue. They're certainly responsible, but I once watched a kid cut his finger off in high school wood shop--it was an accident, he certainly didn't do it on purpose. And there really isn't even a good argument as to why BP would do something like this on purpose.

Like I said, people educated on the subject (and not people that you see talking on the fucking news) seem to agree that it was a mechanical failure and maybe a poor design. However, that happens. In most cases, it takes the failure of something for the design to ever improve anyways. Not saying it's a good thing, because it's not, it still sucks. But it's just one of those "shit happens" things. Like Katrina--it's not as natural as a hurricane, but its just something that happened.

I think some people that have general knowledge of the situation seem to think it's something thats really easy. And it's really not.

Wow. ONCE AGAIN, you ONLY show up to try and slam me and you fail...again. Seriously, you fail every single time--as much as you follow me around, you'd think you would have learned something at this point.

It has nothing to do with reading, I misinterpreted who he was talking to. Seeing how he didn't quote anyone in his post, it's a pretty simple mistake to make.

I didn't read it wrong, I did just what you and many others did with the collapse thread, I misinterpreted. He didn't spell it out well enough to avoid that happening. Difference is, when he corrected me, I manned up and said my bad.

Good try, but you fail again...LOLOLOL LMFAO ROFLCOPTER HAHAHAHAHAHA

BTW they just announed the latest estimates put it at 748,000 gallons per day that makes this total spill about 29.2 million gallons of oil, 3 times worse than the exxon valdez.

I didn't click on the link, so I'm going to operate on the "faith-based belief" that no one is stupid or delusional enough to actually think this whack-job idea has anything resembling merit. Too bad Weekly World News went under because this concept fits the pages of that rag.

I've been watching CNN today, I thought this when I first saw the camera and it was almost a 2 ft. diameter pipe. Obama is giving good answers today. Some are real, some fake. I'm praying for this leak to stop and STAY stopped. The spot will now have to be watched every second for eternity.
Obama just finished at the podium. 23+ hrs of topkill, no fix yet. Watching the live feed the tools are in the picture.

Possibly. If I remember correctly, they said Bat Boy was our secret weapon against Iraq at one time, so this means he's turned traitor and is now working to destroy us.
