I thought there was already a thread about this, but I can't find it. (I even searched for it, but no luck.)

I think the new Arizona law is un-american. I don't care about the illegals, my concern is for how US citizens will be treated. Once it's been determined that they are here illegally as long as they aren't mistreated I don't care where they send them. How they can do that I don't know, but checking someone's papers because they seem (look?)suspicious seems to set a bad precendent IMHO.

Having said that, I have a hard time understanding why we care what the President of Mexico thinks about this. If his country wasn't a shit hole then maybe Mexican citizens wouldn't be swarming across the border looking for work that US citizens don't want to do.

And he wants us to re-impose the assault weapons ban, because the drug dealers in Mexico (that are his responsibility) are smuggling guns? Maybe he should seal off his border?

What a freaking joke. That would be like me complaining to my neighbors because my kids are stealing tools out of his garage and then using them to beat up my mom. We don't want your kids in our garage. Why can't you control them? (That might be a bad analogy, lol)

There is the Arizona law thread, but since he included the gun ban, we'll make it it's own thread.

I'll tell you what is un-american. A foreign leader standing on the floor of the house shitting on our laws and congressman cheering him. Is there not a member of our federal government who possess the testicular fortitude to put this clown in his place?

Ban assault weapons here so drug dealers will play nice in his god forsaken country. What a joke this guy is. We banned drugs that sure helped the problem. Where is the leadership in the federal government to point out to Calderon that one of the problems he faces is his own special forces aiding the drug cartels. The Mexican government is full of corruption from the top down. Someone needs to show this hyprocrite to the border.

I did not appreciate Calderon's speech; however, I was more upset at our country's leadership applauding it and not defending the country and the American people. This will be remembered come election day by many. Conservative politicians will benefit from shopping clips of the Dems giving Calderon a standing ovation in the commericals prior to the elections this falls. Mark my word, you will see a lot of ads running these clips.

Why should anyone be surprised by how Ptown's DC crowd reacted to Mexico's elpresidente??? These people all feel Amercia is the world's problem, and applaud and laud anyone that carries that mantra. It sickens me to see the DC liberals ruining this great country every single day.

Is this how Obama is fixing our status in the world??? By letting any leader in town to spit on us?? The people that elected this neophyte need to be the ones spending time on the borders and combing the streets of Afghanistan.

Yeah, not going to argue with you there. Not a good sign at all. Not happy with the Prez with this one.

But, I will say the U.S. status in the world is improved and we are slowly starting to see policy come from it. It takes time though. Different thread though.

Completely and utterly confused as to why our lawmakers reacted in that way.

And Calderon is a bum of the highest order.

This assualt weapons stuff is bullshit...

"But LJ, 90% of weapons used in Mexican crime are traced to the U.S."

Kind of true. 90% of traced weapons are traced back to the U.S., but only 17% of weapons recovered at Mexican crime scenes are traceable. Go fuck up your country more yourself and leave ours to our own fucking up

1. Calderone can pound sand. Clean up your own house before criticizing ours.

2. as stated in the Arizona law thread(s)...this law is no different than the federal law currently on the books. Arizona has passed this law because our Federal govenment is too big a pussy to enforce what is currently on the books.

3. Each and every lawmaker who cheered Calderone should be noted and voted out at the next opportunity. Not one of them is doing us any favors.....at all.

1. In response to the OP, the AZ law does NOT say a law enforcement officer can ask for papers based on how someone looks. It says they have to have reasonable suspicion which is EXACTLY what the federal law states. The AZ law is just a state law that actually enforces the federal law. The AZ law actually says that profiling is illegal according to the law.

2. As for the topic at hand, I was by far more appalled at the members of Congress who stood and applauded Calderon's speech than I was at Calderon's speech to begin with. And Calderon's speech was horrible, hypocritical, etc.

Obama should go make a speech to their congress/whatever explaining that 90% of traceable cases of diarrhea are due to Mexican food. He should also tell them to not blame us for their drug cartels doing mean things.

Hey, Chalderon only did what Obama and the rest of our government allowed him to do.

Meanwhile, Obama... with his nuts somewhere up between his lungs.... gave Chalderon his lunch money.

Sad-ass President.

I think that every citizen in States that borders Mexico should go to the border a fire a few rounds down range. Get a group together and have a mad minute on the border.
If you hit something that a bonus in Nam. This keeps the VC away for a few days…. Could do the same for illegals.

Hey! Increase tourist attraction to Az …. Five and four nights and 10,000 rounds …sign up now….. tracer rounds and night scope extra. Oh! I can see the tourist crowd now…

Good food, new friends, helping the economy and doing a civil duty all at the same time…. Does get any better than that joins us now at the Az. border.

So the communists are now bashing the AZ law ........ just like the democrats in our own government, yet some people get upset with me for referring to obama/pelosi/reid as socialists or Marxists or communists. They seem to be in unison an awful lot.
