Newhart.

For as good as the show was, Seinfeld sucked

I'd say Newhart, although Cheers, Quantum Leap and Start Trek:NG had nice endings.

As stated above, the Seinfeld ending was awful, the Sopranos was underwhelming, and I wasn't a fan of MASH, Dallas or Lost so I can't judge them.

Newhart was such an underrated show, I doubt anyone saw that ending coming. In a way it was nice to live before the internet and 24/7 gossip and reports.

M*A*S*H. Check the stats.

Charles in Charge rocked the finale too.

Hmmm, let's see how the finale of Law and Order's 21 year run ends tonight.

I liked TNG's ending. I've never seen any of the shows in the poll.

The Wonder Years, Newhart and St. Elsewhere . . . . . . all three were phenomenal.

The Soprano's ending was pretty good...up until the actual ending. When the screen just went black...I wanted to throw something. Such a great show deserved an actual ending.

Saddest was Roseanne when they said Dan had died awhile back and Roseanne was just imagining him being around.

I liked Cheers the best.

Perfect ending with all of them sitting around smoking cigars. Then Sam says to the last customer at the door/and the audience "sorry we're closed." Then he fixes the picture that was hanging in Nicholas Colasanto's dressing room and walks in the back.

You really need to expand that list.

Six Feet Under was probably the best final episode I've ever seen.

Also, ^^^^This^^^^

Good to see some other Trek fans on here. "All Good Things...." What a great name for a final episode, and it was almost PERFECTLY pulled off, up to and including Picard joining the poker game while saying "I should've done this a long time ago."

M*A*S*H was probably the best of all time. Newhart was certainly the most creative and because of that I think that it's right up there with M*A*S*H. To not even have Newhart on the poll is a joke.

Really grew on me after watching it a few times and reading insights from other fans.

That last 10 minutes that was so surreal at first was actually brilliant once you understood what Chase was trying to accomplish.

It wasn't clear closure and it didn't smack you over the head with what you just saw. But Chase did two things very effectively:
1) He let you feel like what Tony lives with daily, making you feel the end could come at any time and "whacking" you when you least expect it.
2) Also clear what the inevitable end is for Tony with plenty of symbolic foreshadowing. I don't personally feel it ended there for Tony at all, but the implication that he will get it at some point is unmistakeable.

Finale of The Shield was pretty good.

Never saw Six Feet under, but a lot of people spoke very highly of it.

How many shows end prematurely and don't even have memorable finales? It's a fairly short list of shows that even have a build-up to a finale.

Go to about 6:50 to see the part of the ending that makes it so memorable.
