Usually a DP ends that type of inning with no one scoring.
Well considering Owings threw like 8 straight balls or something, then the dude swings at the first strike w/ the bases loaded and pops it straight up..that's just terrible, i'd be pissed

I rarely blame middle relief guys as I typically blame the organization for not having someone better called up.



Nix and Hernandez should be playing....Gomes hasn't had good swings the past 6 -8 at bats


I understand and agree with the 50/50 of Hanigan and Hernandez...but 4/5 is 4/5


Hernandez could DH?

Before you tell me that Hernandez has to replace Hanigan as catcher then they lose the DH spot.....I'm not sure I can recall 5 times in my MLB viewing life the catcher has had to have been replaced due to injury.

Why would Hanigan bunt for a hit when he has a 2-0 count. I think it is a good try if the 3rd baseman is way back with no one out, and its not on a hitters count, but 2-0???

Didn't Johnny Gomes hit one 450 feet yesterday? Hard to do that with a cruddy swing.

Looks like Gomes hot streak is over with the K in his critical 8th inning AB with 0 out and after Rolen had drawn a walk.

Gomes is 0-his last 10......he hit a big HR in the 4th inning Friday.....he was 0-6 since then coming into today.


He's 0-4 with 3 K today.......that's hard to do with a good/fresh swing

Heranadez looking before the game would've been the better DH choice....and now it looks like the definite choice.



I love Gomes and want him to get 450-500 AB.....but it was clear after yeasterday he needed a day off of swinging.

Yeah Hernandez for Gomes in the DH would have been the right choice..I dont see how you dont play someone who is 4/5 against a pitcher?
