Masterson matched against former Tribesman Jeremy Guthrie in the opener.

Rain is winning right now.

Good chance for the Tribe to take another series.

A quick look at team stats...

The Tribe is ranked 7 th out of 14 teams in pitching and 5th in fielding despite what seems to be a plethora of game trashing errors.

Astonishingly, the team is actually 9th in hitting...there are 5 teams worse!

some really BAD stats...Sizemore .215 .....LaPorta .218....Marson .197....Valbuena.159
I wonder if Bruce Drennan is starting to like Russell Branyan's swing now that he has clubbed 3 HR's in 44 AB's. The only player with more dingers is Choo..4HR's in 3 times as many AB's...and Hafner has 3 HR's in 97 AB's

Looks like the storms are through, maybe some rain later but they should get it in (unless some pop-up storms fire off)

Looks like they will get the game in tonight. Not that that is a good thing judging by the score and situation right now.

This pretty much guarantees a loss, as he wouldn't want to be accused of being a "homer".

Tribe loses the first game of the series 8-1.

Mitch Talbot tries tonite to get the team to return to the win column.

The high and low points from last nite...Travis Hafner had 2 hits to raise his average to .250....Jhonny had a hit and an RBI.

The bad news is that those were the only hits on the nite. Grady goes 0 fer 4 and sinks to near Mendoza levels...208.

Simon was all over the place, Choo works a single to make it 2-1 O's, the Kearns blasts one to make it 4-2.

All hell breaks loose for Dave Trembly after that. O's are dreadful.

I haven't watched much but I did catch the end of this game. My neighbor told me to get my fandom back. She is a 68 year old gay lady who loves the Indians. I've lived next to her for 20 years and we always talk Cleveland sports. She really made me feel bad today for not paying attention so I turned on the end of the game. I was glad I did. She said that Kearns kid is going to be pretty good. So whats' he do he goes out and hits a 3 run homer to put the Indians on top. I bet she was happy. Maybe I will start watching again. I gotta watch something.

Is there any hope they can turn this thing around. They are only 6 games under? What do ya think?

Great ending to the game. Down 2-0 in the 9th, win 8-2.

Austin Kearns has been a HELL of a signing for a Minor League contract. Dude is simply raking. I always thought he had the talent to be a good player, even when he got his big break in Cincy. He just always had injury issues.

Mitch Talbot has been AMAZING this season. Already has 5 wins. Fausto has 4. Those two guys are anchoring the rotation themselves. Seriously, they have 9 of our 14 wins.

Some of the so called Indians on here always bust on Cleveland for bad trades but honestly what team doesnt have bad trades. The trades for Talbot and Cabrera were damn good trades in that we gave up nothing for them. Also being able to get Choo who is putting up all star numbers is looking great and Kearns has been a great pick up and a minor league contract at that so the Indians have their good and bad trades/pickups but so does everyone else.

I always thought that Fausto would eventually find it. Looks like I was right on that one. Talbot has been a diamond in the rough. Let's not forget that Talbot would never have broken into the Rays starting rotation. People think the Rays success is due to offense. B.S. The Rays success is due to record setting, absolutely unreal pitching this year.

The next thing Acta needs to do is flip flop Laffey with Huff. Where he came up with this ridiculous idea that Huff is a quality starter and Laffey isn't boggles the mind.

And slightly off topic....what a fuggin shame that the top 4 paid Indians are the worst contributers.

Moon Pie
Sizemore (costing himself tens of millions of dollars in future contracts)
Hafner
Wood.
