the basis of the red card was the fact the last defender(the keeper in this instance) took out the person who was about to score. In this situation, it was him denying a goal scorer illegally which was what I was eluding too with my first statement.

I actually think that the referee thought Casillas touched the ball, which makes it a legal tackle. Either way, with 2 defenders running along side him, the clear goal scoring opportunity wasnt there. Since the goal still was scored anyway, advantage wouldve been played negating the PK. BUT, if the ref had saw the tackle correctly, a yellow care shouldve been awarded to Iker Casillas.

Speaking of todays game, Messi is playing great again, as are Higuain and Tevez. Messi needs a goal though, I think if he gets one he might go on one of his tears and score a brace and then a goal in the knockout rounds as well.

Higuan was in the right spot at the right time for all 3 goals. A lazy header that could have been stopped, a present in the front of the net, and then the last header. But you can't fault him for that, he was there where he should be. Messi has had some nice shots and even better passes, a goal will come. The 10 o'clock game doesn't excite me but Mexico vs. France should be good, and tomorrow we got Deutschland, USA, and England so can't wait for tomorrow.

Is anybody else getting really annoyed by the music ESPN plays every time they take a break/come back from a break. The African song? Man that song is old already and we're about a week in.

What an idiot. Nigerian player gets a red card for I guess getting frustrated kicking at an opponent. It will be 11 on 10 for the rest of the game.

Man that red card is going to kill Nigeria. However, that was quite a nice display of acting. The Nigerian was completely stupid to kick at him, but he barely grazed the Greek. That Greek guy was acting like he got shot.

I've come to accept that this is par for the course from pretty much every team except the U.S. during the WC. It drives me nuts, but as long as FIFA doesn't do anything about it and the refs still call every dive, it will never stop.

Goalies this WC are having a hard time. Another goal after a mistake. Couldn't hold on to the rebound.

The thing I linked was a Vuvezela blocker. It filters out the vuvezela noise if you watch on your computer.

I know. Messi has been fantastic so far. The passes he had today were awesome, especially the flip over to Aguero who put the ball to Higuain.
Gonzalo was in the right place today, but the 3rd goal was a nice header. He had to adjust and put some pace on hit back where it came from to wrong foot the keeper.
Id like to see what Milito could do, but Maradona is obviously trying to stick with the more South American style up top. Milito does have a lot of Italian style in him compared to Higuain and Tevez despite only being in Italy just recently.

This is the perfect game of Americans also. A tie gives RSA a chance to beat France and advance.
