I say run it full on Barca style, 4-3-3. They just updated the rosters/formations on the game and thats what they are running. I just murderlized this guy who was playing with Germany.

Agree. I actually think they wouldve been MUCH better served to go this route to begin with.

Casillas in goal
Capdevilla, Puyol, Pique, Ramos in defense
Alonso and Busquets in CDM/CM roles interchanging
Xavi in advanced mid position
Iniesta and Cesc/Silva/Navas/whoever on the wings
Villa up top.

That is their best line-up and best formation. Not to mention, it is what half the team is used to playing at Barcelona. I understand they went a different route in Euros, but you have a few new pieces and clearly Torres is not ready to help the team....

Just looked. Pedro in for Torres. Good move. He is probably the one player who knows exactly how to play in front of Xavi and opposite Iniesta because of their club time with Barca. I think Cesc would have played if he was 100% healthy though because he looked good last game.

Germany is playing well (better than Spain to this point), but Spain has the better players. No doubt in my mind. Ill take Spain.

gonna be a great match!

though i'm rooting for Spain,
after watching Germany peak through these past weeks, I think they look too strong at this point.
even if you look beyond the offensive attack with Klose, Schweinstieger, and Podolski; the defense was absolutely swarming against Argentina, (although admittedly a much less patient and disciplined side than Spain).

Should be a tight and low-scoring match I would guess.

At least you admitted it :D. Spain and Argentina shouldnt be considered anywhere close to even. Right now, Spain is much better both individually and as a team because virtually no country can play the way they want versus Spain. Its just impossible to do when you have the ball less than 40% of the game.

Spain is trying way too hard to be technical, but I think the game would open up if Germany got a goal and forced Spain to push forward. Unfortunately, if Spain gets a goal, I think the game will tighten up even more, and Spain will just sit on it...

Any goal is going to open up any game. But a German goal would be the worst if the two. Germany is the team sitting back and making everything compact. A Spain goal would make Germany come out and pressure them way more, it would be the best thing this game could ask for.

Good point.

Germany would have to attack a bit more, I agree, but I think that the Spaniards will just try to kill the game if they scored a goal. Germany will put more pressure, leaving themselves susceptible, but Spain is too technical for me to see Germany getting much possession. Now, Germany would drop back, definitely, if they scored a goal, but Spain will have to put more pressure. In fact, I'd think we'd see something along the lines of the Spain/US semifinal last year with Spain bearing down on the US the last 30 or so minutes. That bombardment would be interesting to watch...

defensively tight on both sides,
really very little chance for either side to develop a sturdy counter-attack

set piece goal!!!!!

Whats funny is everyone jumped on the German bandwagon after they rolled on Argentina.....which I admit, was impressive.

But Argentina isn't Spain. Ze Germans barely had the ball and when they did....couldn't capitalize.

The 3rd place game has been pretty entertaining, aside from the announcer's obsession with Suarez being booed. Diego Forlan should win the Golden Ball in my opinion.

Depends on what Sneijder, Xavi and Villa do in the final. But he has to be in the discussion for sure.

How about Muller? He's definitely going to win best "young player" and if the goal tallies stay as they are now, he will win the Golden Boot because he has the most assists.

I know, I think missing a game is going to hurt his chances. and while he has more assists, he isnt on the ball as much as the other 3, which hurts his impact on the game.
