Is that your list or did you find it somewhere? Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Buckethead should probably all be on there and ahead of Slash. In fact Buckethead is probably number one. What he can do with his "jazz pinky" is ridiculous. Slash is great and is pretty remarkable considering he never took lessons and taught himself. Maybe if he took lessons he would be up there with Satch and Buckethead
Also Kirk Hammett and Dave Mustaine could be on the list but should be honorable mention. Gotta give some love to the metal genre.
Here is my version:
1. Buckethead
2. Joe Satriani
3. Van Halen
4. Hendrix
5. Steve Vai
6. Kirk Hammett
7. Slash
8. Jimmy Paige
9. Clapton
10. Zakk Wylde
Honorable Mention:
Dave Mustaine
Randy Rhodes
Stevie Ray Vaughn
I like a lot of the guys on your list. Buckethead is top ten IMO, but not #1. He can do some crazy shit, but not nearly as technically sound as Vai or Satch. He was a student of Paul Gilbert (Buckethead's real name is Brian Carrol and he was a student of Gilbert).
There are so many great players anyone's list is just personal preference. My list is this in no order except Satch at #1:
1. Joe Satriani
2. Stevie Ray Vaughan
3. Steve Vai (Student of Satriani)
4. John Petrucci (of Dream Theater, one of the most technically sound bands ever IMO)
5. Paul Gilbert
6. David Gilmour
7. Jimi Hendrix
8. Vinnie Moore
9. Eric Clapton
10. Eric Johnson
HM:
Yngwie Malmsteen
Kirk Hammet (Student of Satriani)
Jeff Beck
Zak Wylde
Randy Rhoads
