Not a bad list at all. You have to drop Slash for this guy though it is really like a child vs Bruce Lee in a fight.

This guy is arguably number one though Chet Atkins is hard to top.

Start at 2:11 if you want to hear Cannonball rag which is just too good.

Is that your list or did you find it somewhere? Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Buckethead should probably all be on there and ahead of Slash. In fact Buckethead is probably number one. What he can do with his "jazz pinky" is ridiculous. Slash is great and is pretty remarkable considering he never took lessons and taught himself. Maybe if he took lessons he would be up there with Satch and Buckethead :D

Also Kirk Hammett and Dave Mustaine could be on the list but should be honorable mention. Gotta give some love to the metal genre.

Here is my version:

1. Buckethead
2. Joe Satriani
3. Van Halen
4. Hendrix
5. Steve Vai
6. Kirk Hammett
7. Slash
8. Jimmy Paige
9. Clapton
10. Zakk Wylde

Honorable Mention:

Dave Mustaine
Randy Rhodes
Stevie Ray Vaughn

Hmm that is very hard to do top ten...

I would put this guy over any RnR guy except maybe Beck and Hendrix.

Al Di Meola is a master no doubt. This song is mighty.

I love guitar for the players out there here is a delightful piece by Andy Summers of The Police and Robert Fripp of King Crimson.

Robert Fripp goes in my top ten list perhaps around 6-8

Hmm Top ten?? Not sure I can do it maybe a top 5? to top 8?

1. Chet Atkins
2. Merle Travis
3. Les Paul

Very hard to do a top ten after these three it becomes pretty muddled with lots and lots of great guitar players.
