Thats why David Kahn continues to be a laughing stock.

He loads up one position at a time.

Last year it was PG, this year it's SF. Next year he'll probably sign 3 Centers.

I don't get that. Of course he resigned. I figured someone would pay him good money, but really didn't think he would get a max deal from anyone. Mind boggling.

This. I have a buddy thats a diehard Hawks fan and he is beyond furious right now. I know hes probably their best player but the guy is nowhere close to max contract money. 32 million dollars for Drew Gooden? unreal

Although I don't think Drew Gooden has 5 years left in himself, that's not ridiculous money. Too much? Yes. But it's not crazy. He averaged 11/8 last year. In comparison to guys at his position:

Villanueva signed for a little more last year I think. Millsap is getting about $7 million per year over the next 3 years. It's less than Varejao and Jamison.

Lakers called Shannon Brown and DFish shortly after midnight and offered both decent deals. Offered Fish 2.5 mill a year, he wants 5 million.

LA is also interested in Earl Watson and Raymond Felton, although Felton is probably out of our price range.

Over-paying for players? What's new? Take a look at the top 20 contracts in the NBA-- overpaying for above average/all star players has been a popular thing to do for awhile now. The Joe Johnson contract might go down as the worst ever. He's already 29 and isn't an elite player. In 5 year's we'll be cracking up at home much he makes and produces.

Lakers also said any trade rumors involving Bynum were "ridiculous".

I hope they're telling the truth, I really don't want to lose Bynum.

I heard something interesting on the Mike and Mike show. They were saying that the owners are seeking to have these contracts without all this guaranteed money(in the new collective bargaining agreement)....of course everyone knows that, but they are wanting to make them retroactive to this offseason. First off, can they do this? I can not see the players union letting that happen in a million years. But it would make the Joe Johnson signing make more since. As soon as he starts to decline...they would be out from underneath that heavy contract.

Chris Paul closer to being dealt than some people think, almost dealt to Portland.
