Episode was 'meh' for me...Could have been so much more.

I LOL'd at:

Jim: "How many of you heard this rumor from Ryan"
Kevin: "Does e-mail count?"

I thought the episode was hilarious. Of course, I've thought most of the episodes were hilarious.

I didn't think this episode was any worse than the rest of this season. Sounds like most of you are finally starting to get annoyed by Michael's character, like I was back in season four. I think there's NO WAY Michael becomes CEO, but I've been wrong predicting this show before. I really don't like Jim as a co-manager. I think it's taking too long for him to settle in. It was funnier when he was just a goof-off with Kevin, playing jokes on Andy/Dwight.

Funniest part of the episode was when Andy was trying to get Oscar to speak up, saying something like 'don't you want your grand-kids to know you were apart of the biggest American crisis' or something, and Dwight goes 'how is he going to have grand-kids'?

^ I watched parts of it last night and I didn't find it that funny. I can't say it's all stupid because it was the first time I had ever watched it but we may finally agree on something.

No. I'm sure there are plenty of people that think it is stupid. What did you expect though on a thread about the show?

Great premise. Terrible execution.
this is exactly what i was expecting. maybe thats why they didnt do it though. it seems like nothing really happend this episode. maybe in the next one they invite michael to come back and actually make up a plan. its almost like this episode is leading to the next episode or something, but they didnt even leave us hanging.

I started watching this show about 2 months ago in reruns because....well, because I was to lazy to get up and get the remote, I am now addicted to it. Oh, and speaking about being addicted to it....That's what she said.

So you randomly watched an episode from the middle of season six and didn't think it was funny. You're not surprised, right?

Why would someone who thinks The Office is god awful come to a thread titled 'The Office' and shoot off about how bad it is? Oh, yeah, probably in desperate need of e-attention.

I was really disappointed when Oscar wouldn't say anything when Michael brought him up to the room. I thought maybe he'd have a great idea and somehow Michael would try to take credit for it or something. I agree that they really blew some opportunities.

I think the point was Oscar didn't have any ideas (only complaints any semi-intelligent person could gleen from a financial statement) and it showed what an idiot Michael was for thinking he did.

But agree they blew it when Michael could have saved the day with some crazy idea.

Also getting a bit beyond ridiculous how stupid they are making Wallace look, because he keeps nominating and celebrating Michael despite what an idiot he obviously is. I've never liked Michael's character and always felt he was painfully annoying, but now it's just beyond bearable. They've also kind of ruined Jim and Pam's characters - c'mon, who wants to say it?

I've noticed that too, about David Wallace. I know Michael has the most profitable branch but Wallace still has to know that Michael is an idiot.

Michael's character is embarrassing to me but it's supposed to be.

Yep...they missed this one..and the potential comedy gold with Pam's mom and Michael continuing to date until Pam's child is born (Michael there for the birth, making himself the center of attention...anyone?).

Thought for sure Oscar would have some great ideas to save the company, but it just fell flat.

This was the first episode in the last 2 season that I deleted from my DVR immediately after watching it. There's probably plenty of others that need purging...this one was just the first.

"Also getting a bit beyond ridiculous how stupid they are making Wallace look,"

Well, the show takes many liberties as to how a business/"office" actually works, in the real world as nutty as Michael is he'd be tolerated as long as he makes his numbers, but he'd never be showcased to anyone.

I'm still watching the show, but it is difficult having the first 3 seasons on DVD and seeing how off-track it has become. There are some highlights in the last 2 1/2 seasons, but there are nearly as many groan-inducing (and not in a good way) scenes and plot points as there are clever scenes. Nothing lasts forever, and even the best of shows run out of ideas (like the Simpsons did a decade ago), and the beauty of DVD is that you can just watch the first 3 seasons and imagine that's how it ends, with Jim finally asking Pam out.

Pretty much agree with everyone else. Still love this season and I think this season has just gotten better. But Michael has just turned into an idiot and it makes you wonder how he can even do his job. Before he acted like an idiot but at least did a good job. I have no clue where this is going to go though. Thought they actually left us hanging pretty well. Looking forward to next week.
