LTrain--I'm not sure people don't realize how good LeBron really is, they all just have one of many reasons why they don't want to admit how good he is. Because he is THAT good.

That's false, I've given Durant big props all season--he's one of my favorite players in the league. But like you said, SOME of the things.

I probably do some things just as well as Manny Ramirez. I bet I can run to 1st faster than him, more range in the outfield. Does that make me as good or better than Manny? LMAO...not even close.

Yes, Durant can do some things as good as LeBron.

But not everything and in those cases its not very close.

some of the things like...Scoring, Rebounding, Steals, blocks, fg%, ft%, 3pt%, ft attempts. Id say thats a pretty hefty amount of things he can do just as well or better

When LeBron was 21, he averaged 31.4 PPG, to go a long with 7 rebounds and 6.6 assists. That was his 3rd year in the league.. 31.4 PPG...

A couple years later, LeBron averaged 30/8/7..

This year, LeBron averages 29.7/8.6/7.3.. His 8.6 APG were the MOST EVER by a forward.

LeBrons PER #'s are ALWAYS ridiculous.. Top in the league every season.

Seriously, LeBron could have had 3 scoring titles by now, but again, what do scoring titles get you? It means absolutely nothing in the big picture..

KD will never accomplish the things LeBron has. KD can score, no doubt, but his overall game isn't and never will be as polished as LeBrons.

And don't even get me started on the playoffs. KD has played well, but he has also struggled pretty badly at times during his first postseason..

LeBron fucked around and got a triple-double during his playoff debut and grabbed the 3rd highest scoring average in his playoff debut behind Wilt and Kareem..

Seriously, some people just don't realize how GREAT LeBron is. They try to make comments based on shock value.

Durant is a very good player, he's not on LeBron's level though.

However, the team around KD is VERY good and will be for sometime. Russell Westbrook, Ibaka, James Harden, and Jeff Green are all good players and in Westbrooks case, the argument could be made that he makes that team go.
Thats cute, except scoring titles don't win titles. Having the best team at the end of the season does.

LeBron won the scoring title last season and his team was eliminated, despite him averaging god like #'s.. I think he averaged 36/9/8 for the postseason last year? THAT is ridiculous.

Simple fact is, KD will never be a better overall player than LeBron.

KD is what he is. He's a jump shooter.. He's like a black Dirk with athleticism and a killer instinct.

He also averages more turnovers than assists, and his 7 rebounds for being a 6'10" SF/PF hybrid is kind of bad.

LeBron does more than just score. He could be one the leagues elite PG's if he wanted to be. He also has a lot more to work with in terms of his overall offensive game.. Like continuing to develop a post game.

Will KD be a better "Pure" scorer than LeBron? It's possible. But he'll never be a better player. In 3 years LeBron will be 28 and that's usually the prime of a player. Every single year LeBron improves something else.

In 3 years KD will be the 2nd best player.. Hell, he might even be next year.

And Hb, don't give me that garbage about people admitting how good LeBron really is. He has the 3rd highest PPG in playoff history and there are still people who say he doesn't step up in big games.

SOME of the things S&L, SOME, aka not all. But 2 out of those 3 things KD can do on par with LBJ

I never called you out individually in this whole discussion, I just said people. People who aren't stupid don't say these things--and I don't think you're stupid. I know you never said it.

I have said all along that Kevin Durant is much more skilled than LeBron was (especially when LeBron was 21). LeBron's game is based on inhuman athleticism. Same with Shaq. When that athleticism fades? We will see.

Durant is a monster.

Doesn't seem to be hurting Shaq much. Oldest dude in the NBA, still playing better than a good portion of young guys. That's a Shaq that's been out of shape the best decade almost. I doubt LBJ gets lazy and gets fat in his 30's. LBJ is a guy I can see playing until he is 40, and being an allstar.

Sorry, but the Laker fan cringes in me anytime I watch Shaq waddle up and down the court these days.

He should be able to DOMINATE somebody like Joakim Noah. I mean, absolutely destroy.

The fact that the Cavs are better this series when he's on the bench says a lot. He is absolutely nowhere close to where he used to be (even in his Miami days).

He's a guy that just was always more physically gifted than anybody else on the court. His game was never based on polished skills (like Gasol). Now that his athleticism is gone? There really isn't much left.

LMAO...Shaq's an important piece of a championships team in his 19th season.

Wonder how Gasol's "skills" will be in his 19th season--doubt he even plays that long.

I mean, he's certainly a piece, but only because the Cavs are so good. What'd he do for Phoenix again?

Shaq's "importance" is due to the Cavs. Not because Shaq is anything good at all.

Gasol will have a very long career.

lol.

Right.

When LeBron was 21 he averaged 31.7/8/6.6

KD couldn't dream of those #'s across the board.

Let's not act like KD isn't a athletic freak.. He's 6'10 and can play the SF position..

However, he averages more turnovers than assists and he's pretty much a jumpshooter.

LeBron has always impacted the game in more ways than just shooting.

LeBrons court vision and passing is 100x better than KD, and LeBron rebounds better overall as well.

KD couldnt dream of like 31.5 8 and 6.6? If he ran point forward id be willing to bet that he could come very close to that honestly. But he plays with a true PG and doesnt have to run point. He could get the 30-31 and 8 a game for the next like 7 or 8 years honestly

and KD and LBJ's year when they were 21 are very very comparable, only glaring difference is assists. Especially when you go per 36 minutes(because LBJ plays more mins thatn KD)

there is no way he can play till he is 40 unless his game completely changes
