I don’t believe I have done any questions this year so to keep the long streak of these alive…
From 1971-1995 2 players in MLB knocked in 140+ runs in a season….name them

Did George Foster do it?

149 in 1977
He had some decent on base guys in front of him
Manny did late 90s. Juan Gonzalez I think also was 1996.
Cecil Fielder
Andre Dawson
Donny Baseball
Hal McRae
Those are my 4 guesses.

Fielder no, Dawson 137 in 1987…love the Hal McRae guess…I think he had 131 or 133 in maybe 1982
Don Mattingly 145 in 1985
Jim Rice and Don Baylor had 139 in back to back years in 78 and 79
Joe Torre 137 in 1971
Just looked up Bonds. Crazy he never even sniffed that number, really, outside the 73HR year.

Batted top 3 in order but mainly always walked a bunch and guys like Mattingly and Foster just didn’t walk…no factor maybe more than that era from 71-93
Who is the only player to have 500+ hits for 4 different teams?
Two players that come to my mind are Rusty Staub and Rickey Henderson.

It’s Rusty!
Rickey wasn’t that close. Roberto Alomar had 4 over 496 but not 500. McGriff next closest I saw
Yay! I recall something from my “Rusty” memory!
From 1931-1984….who had the most hits in any one season?
I am sure someone has like 250+ that I am blanking on. But my guess is Willie Wilson.

He had a big 230 in 79 or 80…not the snswer
Pete Rose seems too obvious so probably not him.

My thoughts exactly. Same with Boggs.
But I dont know who else, so I will guess Boggs.
I feel like Boggs, Mattingly, and Gwynn would all be candidates here, but given the year range I don't think they will be the answer.

Boggs is the reason it stopped in 1984…he had 240 in 1985

Mattingly 238 but misses time frame as well.
Rod Carew? Kirby (probably came up around this time so no)? Musial?
Yep I think it's Rod Carew.
Laley23 wrote:Rod Carew? Kirby (probably came up around this time so no)? Musial?
Musial was done I think in 1963…but
Rod Carew 239 in 1977 for the win…,hit .388 that year
A career high 14 HR but somehow an ops over 1.000
