This organization (ownership) is such a fucking joke. It’s just so hard to take them seriously.

Disagree to an extent. Mainly, they all stink. Guardians are good, and still cannot get a single penny to push them to great. Year after year it’s the same shit.

Chisox never sign anyone, which is probably a bigger disgrace.

OK, I was thinking you might have meant you didn’t care for his person.

He's gonna be traded this time next year, unfortunately.

He is a FA end of 2027 season. We have offered extensions and he has turned them down. Rumor is he will not take a Jose type team deal, and wants to return to the West Coast. Not that he will go highest bidder, just that he isn't willing to take a team friendly deal like Jose. So, Cleveland will have to actually pony up if they want to sign him long term.

...which means, we are trading him next summer while he has 1.5 yrs left and will maximize the return.

That seems to be the way they run this thing - banking on everyone saying “pretty good for a little fella”.

And every 10-12 years, all the vets still on team and young prospects line up for a 1-2 year run.

The other years, its a bunch of really good players surrounded by just enough black holes to fall short (usually without a real chance) in the postseason.

One thing I’ve learned over the years, Laley23 is usually right about these such things.

I think they can at least be selective with Kwan and really get the best package. Maybe they hold onto him thru the 2026 season. But that reduces their return unless they trade him in the offseason before 2027. I think the likeliest scenario is he is traded this time next year, unless the Guardians are in 1st and really feel like they can win an AL Pennant.

Trading him also paves the way for CDL (if he can stay healthy), Mazardo (1B or DH), and Kayfus (OF or 1B) to actually all play and remove the logjam that signing Santana has provided.

I would much rather they NOT trade him. I am just trying to read the tea leaves on everything and what the organization usually does.
