Has anyone ever purchased a car through Carmax? I’m in the market for a new(to me) car and have been constantly going back to their website to look. It seems like their prices are better than other dealerships on similar models.

Should be a reliable purchase. I’ve heard nothing to worry about but always thought prices a bit higher but the security of a safe purchase.

They have always seemed higher priced to me. However, I always use them to sell my current car to get a base price of what they would buy my trade in for. Has worked every time.

I have purchased several cars from them over the years.  If you are not an expert on used cars, they are a good option because they remove a lot of risk.  I always assume I am paying a premium for their vetting and warranty and I'm okay with that.  For someone that knows cars really well, it may be a waste of time.  My experience has always been very good.  No hard selling and no haggling.

I should have done that, although I felt like I got a good enough price on trade-in after accounting for sales tax.  At least the carmax quote gives you a floor to negotiate trade-in with the dealer.

it's my go-to for New and CPO.  Actually a pretty well-designed site, and one you can browse without having to register.
