While progressives were enthralled by Obama, he was pardoning drug dealers, and releasing gitmo detainees who later were shown to have returned to their terrorist ways.....now they are upset about the pardon of a rogue sheriff. It's all disgusting. Moderation and good sense has been replaced by politicians pandering for votes, and a media that is all to eager to keep us riled up...it's good for their business.
Let's be real here. Nazis and white supremacists make up a fraction of a fraction of a percent of this country. They have no power, and they will not get any power. There are a myriad of anti discrimination laws they cannot skirt. Yet progressives act as if they are on the verge of taking over our government. Seriously....when are people going to wake up to the fact that they are being manipulated to push a leftist agenda?
An Islamic terrorist shoots up an Orlando night club....and it's "guns" that are at fault. One idiot, in the heat of a riot drives his car into a crowd, and the Nazis are taking over. Some right wing group gets a legal permit to protest removal of statues and the Pres says both sides are at fault....OUTRAGE! A store robbing thug is killed by a cop and several nights of looting and burning ensue....SILENCE.
Leftist websites peddle their shit...right leaning websites peddle their shit. The main stream media feeds the frenzy to boost their ratings.
This post is just utterly hilarious.
First - Trump is definitely a Republican as the Republican nominee for president. If anything, he is the manifestation of the nativist wing within the Republican Party that rejected the more traditional conservatism of the other candidates. This would be like me trying to say Bernie Sanders isn't representative of part of the Democrat Party's values since he calls himself a Democratic Socialist and he lost to Hillary.
Second - all your haranguing about how the Nazi's in the Republican voting base being a small element of the party when you act like the Democrats are all commies. It is even more true that the radicals are a small element of the left without power. Steve Bannon, Sebastian Gorka and Trump at least made it to the white house (the establishment GOP is slowly neutering them thank God). The analogous elements in the left only ever get a platform in Conservative media outlets which like to find the craziest of the crazy on the left and act like that representatives mainstream modern liberalism - precisely what you are complaining about the left doing with regard to the Nazi's. E.G. When you write "When are people going to wake up to the fact that they are being manipulated to push a leftist agenda?" - this is the same hyperventilation the left engages in with regard to Trump/alt-right/nazi's.
Third - the Trump element of the electorate has existed since way before Obama - Democrat George Wallace campaigned on Segregation Forever in 1963. Rather, normal Republicans and Traditional Conservatives were willing to vote for the non-conservative Trump over Hillary and hitch their wagons to an incompetent buffoon because they believe (erroneously IMHO) that any run of the mill liberal Democrat is worse with Hillary Clinton being especially so.
Take it to the bank - Obama would've beaten Donald Trump if he could have run again which means your theory that this was a reaction to Obama is misplaced. White identity politics has been a core element of Republican elections since all the southern and rural white Democrats switched to the GOP over time after Civil Rights. Donald Trump was just the master at it like Obama is the pinnacle of progressive identity politics.
Donald Trump simply removed the veneer of conservative window dressing that always appealed to the traditional conservatives and libertarians in the GOP electorate but overlaid subvert white identity politics that appealed to another part of the electorate - the George Wallace/Reagan Democrats. This matched and crushed The Democrats' overt pluralistic identity politics from the Obama era with overt white identity politics. Unlike Obama, Hillary Clinton couldn't play liberal cosmopolitanism as a vehicle for minority race/sex/gender identity politics better than Trump could play nationalism as a vehicle white identity politics.
And finally, consider HitsRus once again lamenting the hysteria of a small element of the left while he simultaneously and hysterically places all blame for the United States' challenges on a small left fringe in the same way that the extreme left does and he also acts like reasonable patriots cannot possibly hold any contemporary liberal views.
It is and will remain entertaining to watch card carrying members of the party of personal responsibility to continue to blame Obama and a fringe left for their own choosing - voluntarily - to give power to Donald Trump and use the same sort of generalizations regarding "the progressive left" that they always complain about "the progressive left" regarding firearm owners, conservatives, Trump Voters or what have you.
This is the false conceit of conservatism in America today - the left has been in decline for a decade with the only bright spot being uniquely Obama - who most of America likes and does not think to be an insane radical like the right thinks he is. The right has only been rising in influence and power with the GOP in control Congress, the Presidency, the Supreme Court as well as most of the governorships and state legislatures. Moreover, "the Right" has more power than ever through an ever growing list of overtly conservative choices in a balkanized media environment and the mainstream "liberal" media are all owned by shareholders that want to make money in a capitalist country wherein the majority of normal Americans reject extreme leftism and political correctness - AND YET WOE IS ME TEH PROGRESSIVES ARE RUINING EVERYTHING WITH A LEFTIST AGENDA!
Rob Portman, John McCain and John Kasich play huge roles in preserving Obamacare - BUT TEH LIBRULZ!!! Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan will pass a clean debt ceiling increase and don't ask for strings when there isn't a Democrat in the White House - BUT TEH LIBRULZ!!!! The GOP nominates Donald Trump - BUT TEH LIBRULZ!!!
