speaking of blenders, vitamix has an offer for my firm to buy a $400 blender for $200 + shipping. I could never justify spending probably over $30 on a blender.If anyone is interested, let me know.

If you make juice/smoothies a lot, it is 100% worth it. Everyone swears by them - they are one of those things that are that superior in quality/durability to be worth the money. If you make a smoothie just once or twice a week, there are blenders for $100-$150 that will suffice. I returned a couple of those cheaper ones because "chunky" smoothies got really old really quick. Thought I'd give the Vitamix a shot, figuring I'd return it because it wasn't that much better to justify $500. I kept the vitamix.

I haven't tried making soups and salsas yet, but some day...
