I used to show Casablanca to my senior government classes as one of my classic movies that I thought everyone should see. It is interesting how many Americans left to go to other places. A lot of Americans went to fight in the Spanish Civil War and WWII pre- US involvement, too.
One of the most used quotes from the movie: “I am shocked, shocked that there is gambling going on in here”. (And then the guy comes up and says “here are your winnings, sir” with the response “thank you very much!”)
You sometimes might hear that quote in reference to when someone is faking like they don’t know what is going on, yet really they do.
