Oh, no, not Niekro.  I'm saying I found the correct answer, I believe, but I looked up his stats first.....so I am DQ-ing myself.

I see how my response got taken as referring to Niekro.  I guessed him, then looked up his stats.  Then I looked up who I believe is the answer and was not really impressed with his numbers.

edit: Oh, I think I get it..........it's his saves later in his career

No....the answer was a starter his whole career. Not Eck or Smoltz

Well, shit, I guess I'm back in the game.  (it was Smoltz I was referring to)

Plus Smoltz has a 24 win season and 5x over 200K.....ascot HOF he had incredible postseason performances to put him over the top

Well, Don Sutton might qualify.....but I can't believe he would have only had 1 season with over 200 K's.

Sutton won 21 one year and was 5x over 200

I'm about to give up........unless maybe Satchel Paige?  Nawww....he didn't win 20 games in a season......in the majors.

Well, one I am thinking about is Bert Blyleven, but I'm sure he had more than one season of over 200 K's.

Yep!

Strike shortened years got him 2x....would’ve had a couple 22 win seasons likely and had 199, 198, 197 K......5x won 19, stuck on 20

Was decent though

Blyleven 8x over 200

Is it OK to look at the hall of fame list of names for answer ideas, or is that kinda not legit?
