This conversation took a fun tangent.

My brother and I are both righties, but from a fairly young age, he was comfortable hitting from either side, so he switch hit up to college.

I'm a righty in mostly everything.  The only times I feel more comfortable left-handed are hockey and boxing.  Not sure why.

Question #126

This HOFer finished Top 10 MVP 2x. Not an outfielder and once played 162 games in a season.

Has led the league in games played, hits, doubles, triples, Slug%, OPS, OPS+, total bases....has scored 129 runs, 29 HR, 114 RBI, 22 SB, hit .331, gold glove, silver slugger....could do it all. Lacked longevity like some of the greats but career counting stats are well up there.

Name this HOFer

And based on that (bat right, throw left), you can probably guess who one of my favorite non-Tribe players was. hint: Mets 60’s and 70’s

Answer: Cleon Jones

The fact that you never mention HRs as something he led in feels telling.

It sounds kind of like George Brett, except I'd wager he finished top-10 in MVP voting well over twice, but I could be wrong.

Brett?

Also sounds like Yount, but I think Yount played some outfield, didn't he?

Yount is the answer....2 MVPs but no other top 10’s. Didn’t hold on to age 40 or his numbers would’ve been even farther up there

Question #127

This HOFer was top 12 MVP voting only 1x....only 1 time over .300, 1 time over 100 runs and never had 185+ hits in a season.

I think I know this one, but I want to give it some time if others want to answer.

Wait, I don't think my guess is right.  I was thinking Gary Carter, but I have to believe he finished in the top-12 in MVP voting more than once.

Question #128

This HOFer never won more than 20 games in a season and only 1x topped 200 strikeouts! Starting pitcher whole career.

I found the answer because I wanted to look at his stats. How did he get in?
