My only issue with Rings of Power is i think the guy portraying Elrond looks a little like Neil Patrick Harris and it's distracting.

I'm not quite sure what his role is, but he does look a little young for a supposed leadership position. I realize Elves don't really age, but you get the point.
And it doesn't bother me, but a bit too much woke/diversity casting. That world is all small villages that distrust outsiders, and very "speciest". It just seems out of place to see a few token black elves or dwarves. They should have just cast one of the realms of man as all black, and maybe another all asian. Especially if your goal is to create opportunities for BIPOC actors.
Finished The Terror. Or at least the season I cared to watch, as they did a second season that was totally original and not based on the first season or the book it was based on.
Like the novel it was based on, it takes the real life incident in the 1800s of a failed British attempt to find the Northwest Passage that failed due to the two big-ass ships involved getting stranded in ice for a few years. Everyone on board came up missing, although I think it has been determined that at least a handful of men survived and integrated into the local Inuit population. The book and 10-episode show (originally on AMC, with Hulu having the rights to it, I think) take the hardships that were faced (or likely/possibly faced) by the men, such as scurvy, lead poisoning due to improperly sealed tins of food and mutiny and added a demonic bear-like spirit that was the guardian of the Inuit tribe and didn't take kindly to trespassers, especially when said trespassers would accidentally kill the tribe shaman and then intentionally kill a few others.
Really well made and definitely a good, downbeat watch where nearly every character of any importance wound up dead from one thing or another.
Started watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. Very funny.
Also started The Peripheral on Amazon. Good so far.
Been working my way through The Expanse. Currently about halfway through the second season and really digging it. Usually don't get into sci-fi stuff (unless it's pure horror/sci-fi), but this is more "political intrigue and warfare in space" and less "let's see what the costuming department can come up with for wacky alien race #3594068" -- with the one alien being something so alien that no one understands much more about it other than how it's really good at assimilating stuff it comes into contact with.
I still need to watch the last season of The Expanse. It’s definitely a space opera more than hard sci-fi but it’s good stuff.
I’ve enjoyed the few episodes of Fleishman in Trouble. I can’t tell who sucked more in their marriage.
Not all TV per se, but what is everyone catching up on during this down time? I’m almost through season 3 of The Boys. Gonna start on Jack Ryan latest season next. Top Gun Maverick was sick (now out on Paramount). Just watched the Weird Al “fake” documentary on the Roku channel and it was hilarious. First cassette I ever had was Bad Hair day and first concert I ever saw was Weird Al, so I have a soft spot.
I haven’t started Jack Ryan yet but plan to soon.
I haven’t been watching much lately. I knocked out the new season of Last Chance U on Netflix in about a week, though.
New season of Hunters comes out soon so we are rewatching the first season.
Watched first few episodes of S3 of Jack Ryan. John Krasinski plays that role perfectly.
Have last few shows of 1899 to watch. It's kind of like Dark meets Westworld, so it's complicated. I'd have to watch again paying closer attention.

I’ve been trying to watch this. Been stuck on episode 1 for 4 nights because my wife has zero interest and then I get too tired and realize I’m not paying attention. Rinse and repeat lol.

Most of B99 is funnier than Parks and Rec but not quite The Office (all 3 same creators if you didn’t know)
Except for the last season, last season was dog shit.
I really want to start Peripheral soon, looks really interesting. I am 7.5 seasons through Smallville currently
E! is running a Las Vegas marathon.
Man, that show was great!

Yeah the last season was rough, but overall it’s great
I like B99, but no way is it as good as Parks and Rec. I think that may be better than the Office, but probably falls just short.
Peripheral is on my watch list. Currently early in the fourth season of The Expanse. Has a few overly-scripted moments, but is really cool overall.posted by jmog

Yup, some of the funniest scenes ever on TV are on B99

I can see that, I rank those 3 as Office, then B99, then Parks.
But Ron Swanson is the best character ever on TV.
Ron is the GOAT. Captain Holt is very high on my list. So are Kevin and Dwight.
