As far as I know, no one was said to see the former coach go.

Look deeper SQ.obviously these are just chat forums and some opinions are just that and some are factual info.I believe the returning players must give new coach a chance. No matter ones personal feelings change at any level is difficult but at times can make a team stronger.Salem will adjust and hope team is successful

I said as far as I know, and that was basing absolutely nothing off of what has come from this site.

Of course the new players have to give the new coach a chance, they have to buy into his system. But he's the coach, if he can't get them to do that you might as well find another coach for next year. I'm just sayin', based on what I know (which is some factual info from the source), no one was sad to see him go...

We can agree on a few points but what I know based on facts also is there were and are current players who were sad to see him go.We obviously don't have the same sources or contacts which makes for different opinions

Yeah, there weren't many. Mainly former players, but i'd say a majority had no ill feelings towards the board's decision

OK Salem posters you have a new coach,if it is the one you want I don't know but these questions enter.Super was quoted as saying he,being new coach, wants to build program from grade school up which is comendable but he will have 1-1/2 hours of driving time on a daily basis plus 2 hr practices just for his high school obligations. When will this man have time for lower programs.I assume he also has a family which requires and deserves his time also.As I have said before when will his team bonding time be.Between the lines is learning and playing.Who will be his High School liason during school hours. Not knowing this man or his style or personality it looks like a big bite to chew off.Based on logistics not sure this may have been best hire.Economically probably a good hire as I believe he has been teaching for quite some time, making him high rent on education payroll, with a teaching job along with coaching salary big combined salary, without teaching, coaching stipend only.Fiscally sound choice.
With these few points what do you Salem posters think

I'll let you know after I see how the team does. I don't pretend to know what this man can balance in his life.

Give him a few years and we'll see if he was the right guy.

Main concern is he is not going to be in the building during the school days.

I wonder how much he will become apart of the Salem community. Is he just going to come in for practices, then head back? Klucinec at the very least was able to interact with the kids at school, after school, he was at just about every football game talking with the kids. Wonder if Hart will go the extra step , even though he wont be teaching at the school, to be apart of it

Well if he is a commuter then the board did the school on the same path as all the whinners here seem to think they were already experiencing. They should have gotten him a job and say you come full time or we don't want you. Would have been better off hiring a non teacher in the area that would commit and had time to be at the school and interact. Card makes a good point. Better be around or guess what??????????

Well i have a feeling this new coach will keep SQ busy next year.

WHat i am saying is it looks like the school board went with experience instead of a coach with passion and energy. If my man is only there during hoop season it is like fishing for bass during walleye season. You may be a good bass fisherman but you wont catch many. BaD CHOICE based on the ppeople that know like SQ.

Whether it's a bad choice or not is yet to be seen isn't it?

Name one time when I never gave a coach a chance from the start. I'll help you out, you can't.

Oh I would say the average fan that does not have any inside interest all give the new coach a chance.

I hope to gosh he was at open gym. That is a no brainer Quake. How is his weight program going to start and his jump strecth or plyometrics or shooting and skills days. has he brought in 3rd grade through 8th grades with youth coaches. Sorry open gyms are nothing but a waste of time for the most part.

But having said all that the jury is out to see what he program will consist of. It may be better then I could even describe.

Still lost on what you're talking about.

Are you upset that someone else didn't get hired? I'm totally confused.

Open gyms aren't a waste of time.... Schedule right now - 3 days a week shooting - 2 open gym...

i love this...open gyms are where players stay in shape and also keep in the flow of competitive basketball and the shooting sessions are where the players work on their individual game..not bringing up the former coach, but this is what has been lacking in the last few years, players havent been "forced" into working on their games..Some worked out other places, but the gym was never opened up for the kids other than the 2 open gym days a week

You mean the guy was IN the school and never opened the gym up? And someone is worried about this guy having to come from Minerva...

Sq, You really struggling with what I am saying. I don't know this smuck from Adam. As far as his record and coaching at Minerva I say big deal. Weak school in hoops in a weak league. His record is ok but they play no one. But I am not upset that they hired him. Could care less. Just making points about what a good coach needs to and especially at Salem since it seems to have been abused for a long long time. i only wish them luck. Actually I would like to see someone else in that league beat Poland and Canfield for a change.

I just hoped the school board did not hire on hearsay and heard what they needed to hear from this guy. Now the jury is out. You guys from Salem will know soon enough.

The jury would have been out on any one they hired, correct? No one understands what you're saying because you're beating around the bush like a moron. He played no one at Minerva? Well seeing how Salem is soon to join the NBC, it looks like we'll be playing no one--sooooo.....

You clearly are upset that someone else didn't get the position. I'm interested in knowing who your choice would have been. I hope you say Clark. Talk about a weak league.

Not to mention Sebring has used the same set of crooked refs at home for about 30 years now... pads that record a little bit.
