Anyway, getting back to business, if all these rumors are true, when will we hear for sure? Big Red is already collecting money for this year's season tickets. If we are going to play Morgantown at home as part of an all-day special, this will affect the tickets.

Would be interesting. Are we certain it'd be a 3-game schedule? I remember reading that the guy said the only way to make money on these games is with 4 or 5 games in a day.

No offense or anything, but Bridgeport is not on the same plain as Iggy, Don Bosco, or Big Red. We need a third game with some power hitters.

Come on fairwood you don't need all playoff caliber teams in a rally to make it fun.Bridgeport vs. WCC would be a great game to cheer for.Would love to see bridgeport with the upset. If those 2 teams join tge place will have even more people. The more the marrier.

I remember last year's Rally in the Valley in Wheeling. They started with four reasonably good matchups and then ended with a real dog. I wouldn't want to see that happen in Steubenville.

Which dog are you referring?Even though the score didn't show it the PCC VS URSULINE game was a very exciting game to watch. All I'm saying is with the atmosphere that will be provided on the 25th any game played by any team that day may have the potential to be a thriller. Also it's going to be a wonderful day of hs football in STEUBENVILLE regardless of who shows up.I hope you make it here on time fairwood.ROLL RED ROLL

No offense but Big Red is not on the same plain as Iggy or Don Bosco either. We heard last year about how you could compete with Iggy and now you have them coming to your homefield and you want to play Morgantown,What a joke this game will be.You will bring in all the media for the Iggy game and you will play morgantown and make it out as a big powerhouse opponent.

We are playing Morgantown because that is who we were playing week 5 before this came about...and the promoter sets the games. Nobody has ever said Morgantown is a powerhouse, but I bet they have more state titles than your team does.

I guess you'll be saying McKeesport isn't any good either, right? Or Inkster...or Massillon....or Ursuline.

The rest of the Valley is just jealous because Big Red plays on the big stage, while they play in the cow pasture.

I think even the biggest Big Red fans know that MORGANTOWN sucks. But then again naysayers would say Ursuline not so good or Massillon wait Inkster sucks or that team from DC there not so good either.Or the team Big RED will face in week 2.Maybe by the time Big RED gets to week 5 they may be beat up enough to where Morgantown may have a chance.Probably not though cause the whole schedule is weak.

I never said the whole schedule was weak but Morgantown and Inkster will be blow out games.Inkster will not even be close with Gardner off to college.

Inkster had talent all over the field....they get the best from Detroit. They will reload. Their RB, who went to Central Michigan I believe, was just as dangerous and hard to tackle as Gardner was.

Inkster will still be better than any team in the Ohio Valley.

This is why i hope we don't play up there couse peaple like u want 2 say BRIDGEPORT isnt in the same league as STEUBENVILLE.It shouldn't matter it would still be a good game.I also hope BRIDGEPORT tells BIG RED and SCC there not going 2 play a doublehead week 1 either(couse there not in STEUBENVILLES league).and before anyone has something 2 same about the week 1 game is not a done deal.

Who said anything about Bridgeport?? I don't mind them coming up to play Central or whoever...I'm sure it will be an interesting game.

As far as them playing CCHS in week one, I'm pretty sure that is a done deal since it is on both teams schedules that they submitted to the OHSAA.

Let me ask a simple question. If you are a fan who is driving a long distance to see St. Ignatius and Don Bosco play, why would you want to watch Bridgeport? I'm not trying to knock Bridgeport. They are a fine little school and what they do they do well. But this is not what they do.

I have another question. Why has Big Red waited this long to put this rally together? Football starts the month after next, and we are still wondering what Big Red's final schedule will look like? I think the rally is a good idea and I plan to be there. But I would think that these arrangements should have been finalized months ago.

I think I can give a clear answer as to why we are playing Morgantown. Morgantown was not our first choice for week 5. We had a tentative agreement to play home and home against Warren Harding. Then Harding joined a conference and dropped us. Big Red picked up Morgantown as a last-minute replacement.

Morgantown has the credentials. They have won the state championship several times recently. They may give Big Red a better game than you are expecting. And don't forget that Big Red has a huge reputation. People would be willing to watch us no matter who we played. If we didn't have a stellar reputation, Bosco and Iggy wouldn't give us the time of day.

I think it is good to include the small schools...that was one of the major complaints about the Herbstreit..that is was just large schools, no matter how good of a program they really have.

Hey, they don't lock the gates when these games start. If you aren't interested in a particular game, go have a bite to eat and come back. Geeezz.
Cheers.

This just in!! I heard this from a very reLIEble source! The gates, at the start of "Rally in Death Valley" (that will be the official name of the event when it becomes official...you heard it here first!), will be locked as will the restrooms for anyone without an Ohio license!
