Grandpa was German/Swiss, Grandma's family from Wales. Other side of the family was Irish and Polish/Slovak.

My dad's side is completely German, my mom's side is a melting pot.

Here's a question: My dad's mother's family has been here since the early 1700's, though they came from Germany. If your "ancestors" have been here 300+ years, do you still consider them German since they came from there, or American since they were here before the revolution?
