Don't worry, they'll never be taken away.

I'd love to generate more interest in the high school boards to get more people here.

If anyone has any ideas let me know.
Take out some ads in the boys basketball tournament programs or something... I think all you need to do is advertise, contrary to NCF's view, most people don't know about this site. Also you also have lots of bloggers on here who could write some stellar articles if you want content like that on this site. I'm sure they could be had for cheap or nothing.

Keeping the HS forums is a good idea. I only follow HS football and enjoy talking that during the season. I am a little pissed that I didn't get any coaching offers after some of my more intelligent posts on the old place.

I will have a scoreboard script done before football season starts again. I just lost motivation because I don't give a shit about HS basketball. I will finish it in time though. Also, if the boss wants to put some kind of articles/blogs on here I would gladly contribute, though my expertise is more college and pro sports as opposed to HS sports.

Actually, I am working on a solution for a scoreboard right now.

You know anything about drupal? Now that I have used it extensively at my new job I've found that it is the perfect platform for something like this (outside of the built in forum). By the time HS football season starts to get close I am hoping to have this site running as a hybrid drupal/vBulletin site.

I know about Drupal and what it is, but I've never used it. It's something I'll check out though.

It's an awesome thing to learn/know and allows for ridiculously rapid website development.

Maybe it's the pleasant, mellow buzz I have, but the word "Drupal" is cracking me up. Puts the image of a depressive Care Bear-like critter in my head. Like, "Look at Justin, he's being such a Drupal..."

Heh heh heh...

i would like to say, i enjoy 99% of the things here. The other 1% I dont enjoy are probably caused by my own comments on threads. I knew you werent going to get rid of HS Sports forums, I just wanted to get more people talking basketball. Football Forum was pretty active for such a late season start. Ill always accept the HS Forums are a work in progress and looking to get better.

The comments last night that irked me were the several people that posted this site was started as (just) a place to BS and shoot the shit. They said the HS forums were added as an afterthought. If thats true, is ok too. I wanna try getting the HS Forums better.

You need to get this site out into the open and made aware to people. Advertise it as a serious place for high school sports, and install/add something that jj didn't have that would improve and differentiate your site. The whole serious business is funny and all, but it won't bring you new customers

I'm sure alot of posters could put an add in the high school programs.
I will. Maybe Justin has a small add that he could send that he wants used.

THIS. Ive made a few posts about Serious Business and HS Forums. I could not have said it any better than he just did. The Serious Business forum is just the same group of people shooting the shit about various topics. It is a "clique" group of insiders that mainly share inside jokes and banter. THAT alone wont generate new traffic to this site.

No it won't but I still like the Serious Business Forum. I don't think it should go anywhere, just don't advertise it and let whoever wants to find that board find it.

Its Ok that you like the Serious Business Forum. Keeping it like it is wont allow it to grow. I dont care if it is a hobby, or not. Every person running a website wolld prefer it making money. BTW, you have 118 posts. What do you really even know about the origins and history of this site? Just asking?

September what is the best route you think we should take?

I think you are on to something about building around the HS content, but that's VERY difficult to do.

You could be right. I didnt know much about the origins of this website. (and I joined 2 days after it started). I just learned last night that the original FreeHuddle was formed for a "clique" of guys to shoot the shit and BS. There was never an intention to even have a HS Sports forum.

According to several original members, This was never intended to be a HS Sports Forum. So, I guess I am as dumb as anyone else, not in the loop back then. I kind of thought it was?
