Does anyone want this new site to include HS Football and Basketball Forums? Ive been here from the 2nd day and applaud the time spent getting this together. After almost 4 months though, the HS Forums get NO activity. Serious Forum gets 75% of the posts and replies. College and Pro Forums are hanging on. HS Forums belong here or not?

It won't pick up THAT much... the main amount of people that came here were from ST/I, which is why justin created it anyway. The HS forums are there, but that was never the "point" of this site.

They can exist, but don't be expecting activity.

There is not much action on JJ either. Not even on the Steubenville threads. Last year there was constant talk because of the Big Red-Massillon game. It went on for months. This year there isn't much of anything.

The football forum was pretty damn busy during the football season..

However, I only really come here for Serious business, pro sports, and college sports.

This site was essentially created from the T/I board's membership. While many of us do like and care about high school sports (which is why we were on the Huddle to begin with back in the day), whatever this site's called now came about to give us a place to BS about counting down or who's on top, as well as mindlessly bicker about college/pro teams, which is what the average T/I sort of person seems to base their life around.

Interest in high school sports is a bonus. A desired bonus, but yet a bonus.

Don't worry, they'll never be taken away.

I'd love to generate more interest in the high school boards to get more people here.

If anyone has any ideas let me know.

They don't have to come to this forum. When I was first on JJ it was probably three years before I even discovered the ST/I forum. I only ever posted in the HS football/basketball and college football/basketball forums.

I might suggest, though, that the HS forums maybe have a few more rules than this one. Perhaps a swear filter on two of three select words might not be a bad idea. I remember when I was in HS my friends and I used to read what people were saying about our HS teams, and I know many of our parents would be very upset if they saw language like that. Just a thought since you'll likely have many HS students reading, if not posting, in those forums.

Have you been to the HS forums on here? They do have more rules, i.e. no swearing.

No, I haven't been over there. HS football season was pretty much over by the time this place was up and running and I didn't have much of a rooting interest in basketball this year. Good to hear though.

HS forum rules:

1. No name calling or threats towards other site members or student athletes.
2. No inappropriate language. If you wouldn't say it in front of a teacher or coach, don't say it here.
3. No false accusations or rumor-mongering (this includes blindly accusing private or public schools of recruiting).

Justin, maybe you could hire some overweight has beens to write articles about high schools sports and put them on the front page of this site so everyone has to look at it when they log on. I think Matt Nattali could still be available! LOL
