I taught this in my Senior American Government class during Student Teaching back in 07/08. It gave the students a lot better understanding of Liberal/Conservative as far as politics go and economically. They really liked it and got something out of it

Does anyone know how this sort of thing varies from country to country much?

Yes it varies with different countries. Our alleged liberals here are conservatives in many Europeon countries. The liberal/conservative left/right standard is a false dichotomy.

While this test is not perfect (none are) it is a better indicator than just a left/right scale.

I'm really surprised that most of you trend to authoritarian rather than libertarian. It shows just how much of a shift we've had since the founding of our country. We were founded on libertarian ideas yet ALL of our political leaders trend toward authoritarian now.

I personally find this disturbing, that our liberties are being trounced upon. Freedom is the greatest thing in the world, and it takes people who didn't have it to understand it best. We take for granted the limited amount of freedom we have now.
