Nice work. I talk on other forums one in particular has many people from all over the world they find it very funny when someone calls President Obama a liberal.
He is in the authoritarian right he is just a bit lower on the Authoritarian scale than some of the other candidates.
Which is why you can't take his test as some kind of fact. Anyone with Obama's views is definitely liberal. It doesn't matter how he answered these questions. Government takeover of health care and car companies, and his frivolous Keynesian stimulus that didn't stimulate anything except the price of gold, are decidedly liberal policies.
No anyone with Obamas view is right authoritarian.
The center line if you are not left you are not liberal. He may have a few liberal views but he is not even that close to the center of the line.
You mean former President Bush's bailout right? He signed the first bailouts.
Government takeover of health care and car companies, and his frivolous Keynesian stimulus that didn't stimulate anything except the price of gold, are decidedly liberal policies.
Did I mention bailouts anywhere? Did I ever say that Bush wasn't fiscally liberal for that matter? You liberals never have an answer to points like this except that Bush did it too. Bush's policies continued the government takeover of our economy that began with FDR. Obama is just trying to finish the job in his first term.
Yes you did. POST #35 your quote. "That is my point. Marx would be proud of Barack's seizure of various private companies and industries. Obama isn't quite as far left as Marx, but he is closer to Marx than Milton Friedman, which is not what those scores show."
Baracks seizure of various private companies? That is commonly referred to as the bailouts.
Much to your dismay Obama is no liberal and really not even that close.
Dennis Kucinich is indeed a liberal though. He is left of center and below the authoritiaran line.
Obama may be "liberal" on a few issues but overall he is not a liberal at all. That is why the political compass covers all the topics not just a couple hot topic ones that people like to pidgeon hole people into.
If there are 100 issues and someone votes 25 on the liberal side and 75 on the conservative side they are not a liberal in any way.
Now I guess if someone voted on 100 issue and only 5 were on the liberal side the person that voted 25 would think that they were a liberal.
That is why this test shows there is more to all the issues than left right and covers the topics governments tackle not just the "hot" topics.
For example former President Bush and President Barack Obama are much closer in ideology to each other than Dennis Kucinich.
Dennis Kucinich is a true and real liberal left of center and below the authoritarian line. There are very very few of him in American politics most are authoritarians and just slightly less conservative than others.
There is a difference between liberal and less conservative. Calling someone who is less conservative liberal is limited thinking.
For an example, compared to fascists everyone is a liberal, but is that true that they are really liberals? No they are just less authoritarian than them and are falsely labeled.
