Yea, that article clearly compared you to the great teams of ASVSM. I enjoy playing the underdog card as much as anyone, but you are trying to build it up out of nothing.

Of course Orrville is the favorite? Says who?

You beat Taft.....you're the favorite if anyone is. I still say it's a tossup. Whichever team's supporting cast has a better day will win.

I definitely agree with that. I think Lima is probably the favorite, but they are the other game.

Rider80 why should rr1 sit this out? Maybe because he is a stat machine and will call you out on all your half truths and bold face lies?

Coach Slaughter has earned his money, not all have. Some coaches IMO were very over paid!

Mo Tipton was a terrible cross country coach. ;)

I believe most coachs do it for the love of the game, the money is just for giving the wife a nice present for all the hours you spend away from the family.

RRFan: I made a mistake i ment to have you sit out of the conversation. The money comment was a "figure of speech". From the way you imply things, you may need to sit on someones couch! .Anger management problems? I'm happy that the team is winning . I would support the team if they were losing as well. A True Rider! I do have a relative on the team ,but he needs to play more in the summer and get stronger ect. a little vested interest.

I have told you many times that having coach Slaughter as the coach goes far beyond coaching Orrvilles basketball team. It seems that from your comments that is all he can do ? Or that coaching Orrvilles basketball team is the most important thing in your life.

Get real ! I cant' wait until he in the building next year . Then we will see changes that are important to me.

A little advice RRFan : Be very careful what you say on public sites. It may add " fuel to the fire" . Just a friendly reminder.

Interestingly enough Mo Tipton is about the only guy I know that I could beat in a cross country race.

You havent told anyone anything many times....you've been absent most of the year.

Let's move on before we have to draft legal papers.

Score prediction anyone?

I'll got with 61-54....Riders.

I've thought all week that Ready is the favorite, and I still think so. Orrville will have to play a complete game to win. However, as easy as it is to game plan against Orrville (stop Wasson and Bolyard), it sounds even easier to game plan against Ready (only 1 player averages over 6 points per game). But that being said, I think this will be a DEFENSIVE battle, not an offensive one.

Good luck, Riders!

Rider80- I don't know what you ment by "he in the building next year" What are you talking about? Do you mean Coach Slaughter? What changes?

I have adivce for you also...go away! You add nothing but idle threats. You pop into defend your family but there really is nothing you can say. Tip the hat and move on!

Past coach had a ton of talent that was IMO wasted. Many agree. We now have things going well so go away. Enjoy what the program was restored to this year. It has been a long time coming.

Let's win Riders!

And as you have seen, the "plan" doesn't always work out. i am sure the last 2 Reedy opponents had the same plan.....didn't work out, and I am sure our regional opponents also had the plan of shutting down Jake and Zach. Knowing what you need to do and doing what you need to do are two very different things. I like our chances. I am sure it will be a game the whole way....as it should be.

Exactly. I think it will be a battle of who can execute their defensive game plan better. And if Ready puts on another "clinic," I think they'll win this game by 12.

Go Riders!

Coach Slaughter will be teaching at the High School next year. Taking over for a retiring Gov't/Social Studies teacher. I assume that is meant by "in the building". As to what changes will be meaningful because of that.....other than physical location and him being able to keep tabs on his players I don't really know what else changes. I can assure you Sly kept pretty close tabs just being across the street.

^^Exactly.

...but not the govt/social studies teacher that everyone would immediately think.

rrfan,
well said. proof is in the pudding. 20 wins, dist. title, regional title...3 things that hadn't been done since 1996. Anyone who cant see that and acknowledge it is a fool...or blind.

OK, I will go with Orrville in this prediction. I hadn't looked at their scores. If they want to play a slow-down game (something which Orrville will not allow), Orrville's will win the battle of wills, IMO. Thanks for the info! Orrville wins.

Good luck, Riders!

Ready is still the favorite, though. ;)

RRFan : You know nothing about me. i dont have to justify anything to you. nor do i defend anyone family or not . Give you a insite." Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong. Innoncent until proven guilty. "Those that truly know me and have had the opportunity to sit and talk with me would give you a different view.
Ask BRF as i alway ask "how she is doing". I don't get on these sites and degrade people. I only try to give the facts as they are and you can do with them as you may.

5knots. your are correct, but there are many more students in the building than just the basketball team.just a hint "influence".

I think the Rider80 that was posting this morning is not the Rider80 that posted this....maybe the pep assembly is going on right now, thus the free time.

Probably best to leave BRF out of this....and your "facts" sometimes resembled threats...and often times were meant to try and bully people into falling into line.

But that's just how I see it...I'm sure you'd disagree...and that's fine too.
