Joe Graessle is their best player. averaged 22 ppg for the season, but has scored 30+ in his last 2 games, including 37 in the regional final. He's 6'3" and committed to Tiffin. Can shoot from outside and does his share of handling the ball.

They like a deliberate, almost Princeton-style of offense....lots of cuts screens and flashes. We'll have to be on our toes.

Sounds like another game of putting Max and Chase on their best player and wearing him down.

Guess I'm the only Ready fan on here. Graessle is the engine that makes Ready go, but you won't wear him down.

You don't get this far by not being a good team. But with the way Ready beat Taft, I'm thinking they might be the favorite of the 4 teams left. But favorites don't mean anything.

Can't wait for Thursday!

more on graessle...he's the real deal. I'm amazed at how small their lineup is....Graessle is 6'3" but everyone else is 6'0" or shorter.

We'll be bigger, but maybe not quicker.

It sounds like Graessle and Bolyard have a lot in common. Bishop Ready will have to rebound well against Orrville's big bodies, especially on the defensive end to keep Orrville's 2nd chance points to a minimum.

Size could be problematic for Ready, but they put on a clinic against Taft. Taft has a stud Big Man and Ready basically shut him down. He ended with 15, but one would think with a 6'2" guy guarding him he would have scored more, but Ready plays suffocating defense and doesn't allow anything easy in the paint.

Did the game go into overtime? If so, and/or even if it didn't, with only a 9-point win, I wouldn't call that "putting on a clinic." Gahanna Lincoln beating Northland by 25 would be considered "putting on a clinic" in my opinion.

I'd consider it putting on a clinic when you beat a heavy favorite whether it be by 1 or 20. But that's just my opinion. Ready had no business beating Taft if you are looking strictly at personnel. However, you can't measure heart and desire and a great game plan.

And the reason I say a clinic is because Taft pressured Ready full court and trapped the entire game. Ready never let it bother them and stayed composed the whole game.

Thedynasty- We are not falling for your posts. Orrville people will not fall for the "you are David and we are goliath" We are not coming down there with the we should win syndrom. For the first time in a long time our coach will make sure of it and have our kids ready to go.

It is going to take a great effort by our boys to win and we all know it.

I like the way you tried to spin that. That's not what I'm saying at all. All teams in the Final 4 should be confident. There are no favorites at this point, as everyone is deserving. I'm hoping for a good game and I'll obviously be pulling for Ready.

I did not spin anything! I would expect you to be for Ready. Just like you should expect I will be pulling for Orrville.

I think this will be a battle! Hight to us, but that may not matter. Should be interesting.

Dont know that we've seen an offense like Ready's....backcuts, screens, etc...all in the name of getting Graessle open looks.

You dont come out of the CCL (Hartley, Ready, DeSales, Watterson etc) without being a strong team. They didnt win 19 games on accident....but 4 of their 6 losses were to DeSales (Regional Finalist, lost to Zanesville) & Watterson (Regional semifinalist, lost to Dunbar).

Other 2 losses were to Bishop Hartley and Rosecrans.

Another team that likes the score in the 50's if they can help it....same as Newton Falls, when teams score 60...they dont fare too well.

They win the strength of schedule battle...but so did Cleveland Central Catholic and it didn't help them much.

Actually Taft's leading scorer was 16.4 , so holding him to 16, not 15 is not really shutting anyone down , .4 under average is about his normal game!

Yea, but normally against the size of a team of Ready he would have put up much bigger numbers. The kid was a load and Ready battled him the entire game. He had to work really hard just for his 16. But maybe I'm just biased.

I get what you are saying. I went to the game with the understanding that Taft was by far the better team and Ready wouldn't have a chance, and that's what Ready fans were saying.

So, when you have that mindset heading into a game, it's hard to think rationally when there is an upset. And maybe it wasn't necessarily an "upset" because Ready is a very good team.

From what I hear Orrville is similar to Ready in that they play in a league with a bunch of bigger schools which really prepares them for the tournament.

Orrville played 8 DI, 9 DII, and 3 DIII teams. Their five losses were to DI (#3) Mansfield Sr. twice, DI Wooster split, DII Lexington split , and DIII Triway who we then beat in the district finals.

you're ok in my book. respectful, insightful and willing to share info. You're biased, but so are we.

Sounds like 2 very similar teams, led by 2 coaches making their first appearance in Columbus.

Orrville plays a tough sked.....but i still give that edge to the Silver Knights.

Anybody know anything about a classic movie called Mr. Smith Goes to Washington? In that movie, Senator Payne was called "The Silver Knight" by the big boss who controlled him. When Payne began to waiver, the boss (James Taylor) set him straight and then said with a sneer.............."The Silver Knight....pah!"

If you're old like me, you will know what I'm talking about.

However.................."Mr. Smith goes to......................Columbus"........I like how that sounds. Sly knows what to do and the boys are ready (that's "red-dee", not "reedy"!)

Columbus Reedy................Why doesn't that ever get misspelled? We are the disrespected underdogs......again. :D

BRF, Culbertson grew. He went from the 5'1" Dispatch article to 5'9". He's really towering over me now. LOL. Somehow I think the Dispatch was wrong about the height.

Yeah, that makes more sense. 5'1" is awfully short and I had a hard time believing that. BUT, stranger things have happened...like the BJ tday still listing Chesapeake playing Plymouth!
