Yeah but NM State had the rebound and a chance to score. All the needed was a deuce to take it to OT.

violation--- are you kidding me??

Watch the replay. #31 was clearly in the lane before the ball was released and he made it obvious by spreading himself out. It was a VIOLATION.

Thought if it would have been a violation called against OSU I'm sure we'd hear all the arguments against it. ;)

Ehh, Web, not necessarily. It WAS a violation, though I thought it was kind of a shitty call given the circumstances. Funny though, I was flipping back and forth between NCAA and the Cavs, in the NBA guys just walk in the lane every shot, no call. It was the correct call, but the timing was curious.

Pretty sure that wasnt even the call lol.

They would never call that against someone because the eye cant catch it. It would have to be blatant, which 31 wasnt. He was just as early as anyone is during a game. If the MSU players were going to go for the rebound he would have been in the lane at the same time, but MSU wasnt cause they didnt wanna foul.

The violation was the guy on the other side whose toe hit the line. That IS a violation and should be called. That is the only thing the officials can realistically see on that type of play. In HS/College you cant hit the line(s) even if you get back before the ball is released, like he did. It is a violation immediately. Watch the replay the official makes the violation signal immediately (putting your arm out parallel to the ground and your hand in a fist).

The call was on the guy at the top of the lane (from the TV view). His foot went clear into the other guy's spot on the lane before the ball was even close to being released.

Easy call. Can't believe there's a discussion over it. He jerked his foot back quickly because even he knew it was a violation.

Sure it was a violation. But it's often not called, and especially at the end of a close game, unless it affects the outcome of the play.

Using your logic, why not let a kid step on the foul line on free throws or step on the end bounds lines and just ignore it too? Same as three point line. The lines are there for a reason.

Yeah, I know. It's the same with fouls. You always hear people say "you can't call that with the game this close" or "with the game on the line". But if it's a foul in the first half, it's a foul with the game on the line.

I'm just stating the way it usually is. Even the announcers mentioned it.

The WCC, Pac 10 and SEC could have as many in the Sweet 16 as the Big East.

I think Gonzaga can definitely beat the Cuse. Xavier/Pittsburgh is a toss-up. WVU should get there over Missouri though.

I can't see Zaga winning in Buffalo in a noon game against a 'Cuse team that is playing very well. I can DEFINITELY see Xavier winning, if Mizzou had a mean streak I could see them giving WVU a game, but I'm not optimistic on that one.
