Just received mine today. Haven't opened the envelope, but, plan to just give them the info they ask for.
Not going to sweat it.

It's amazing how shit we've done forever in this country magically has become a conspiracy to people in the past 5 years.

I believe I will fill it out, but am concerned about giving everyone's name and stuff. If it is supposed to be confidential information collected solely for statisitcal purposes why do they need to know the name of everyone living in my house?

I am just not that big of fan of giving the government more information about myself than absolutely necesary.

Any thoughts?
Does Wooster still get their mail by horse?

probably, but it would take an amendment of the constitution to change anything

Tell that to the Japanese rounded up by the government with "help' from the Census data. Oh, no, our government is much too ethical to ever use all the data about it's citizens in such a manner. Please.

What makes the 2010 Census different than any other one in US history, other than you just so have happened to despise the President and/or Congress when this one showed up in your mailbox?

The standards are quite rigid on how it is run and how the data is used, regardless of who is in power.

I find the amount of information the government already has about us alarming, I see no need to voluntarily give them more. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't trust our government with my grocery list, let alone private information about it's citizens.

Then why do we need it? If it's redundant, what's the point, besides government waste and counting illegal immigrants?

because its probably a lot easier, less time consuming, and more accurate to have you fill out a few questions than have many different agencies combine their information to maybe have the correct information after it is all said and done.

I don't think the illegals, nor criminals will attach their names to an address. So how accurate is this? Just asking.

It doesn't ask your citizenship, so I don't doubt some will fill it out.

Catching up on my mail. opened, filled it out. Took 30 seconds. If I type my address into google, i'll find alot more information than what I just filled out on my census form.

This. Don't worry about giving your name to the government unless you have some reason to be concerned. They gave you a social security number when you were born so they know your name. It's not a big deal.
