One guy is a foot taller than the other guy. Both jumping over a guy who just stood there and let them do it.

That's your opinion. Kinda doesn't work to say that's your opinion and make a statement on the same subject.

The dunk on Zo was better because the defender actually tried.

Good find.

In all fairness, VC's over Zo was still much better--Zo had way better position on that one than he did there against Michael.

Ya I agree it was better, plus the behind the back dribble gives it some nice flare too.

But do have to agree with some of the other guys talkin bout the age gap cuz u can really tell by some of the posters that they werent old enough to see some of the others besides off some highlight reels.

Yeah, but I agree that revolutionizing is what it is too. Like someone else said, a dunk was a big deal back then--now it's a common thing. IMO, that just makes it that much harder to stand out. But my opinion is that all phases of the game are better than they used to be--I know many disagree and remember that's my opinion, we don't need to have this argument again. It goes no where.

But the point I'm making is this: Jimi Hendrix revolutionized the way the guitar is played, gets him on the list but he isn't the GOAT. The Beatles revolutionized music in general, gets them on the list but they aren't the GOAT. I mean obviously in both examples there are people who disagree with me, same as this argument, but the majority would agree IMO. Just because you showed people the way, doesn't mean you did it the best.

Ya I understand what u mean SQ, and very good analogies there too lol. I think most, and I know Im doing this as well, is going with who they grew up with as the greatest dunker. I grew up with MJ and Ill admit it now that I was a bandwagon fan of the Bulls just cuz I loved MJ as a kid :).

I think thats why some of the others say Vince cuz they have seen him and grew up with him. And like you I feel VC is a bit over rated. He is a great dunker, but MJ is still the greatest lolol :D

I think MJ is the greatest as well, for now.

And VC is still one of the best ever, but as I've tried to show in this thread I think he is overrated because many of his best dunks are overrated as hell.

My man.

To anyone who disagrees, I have a question. Can you dunk? Don't worry, I'm not going the route of the guy who thinks you have to be able to to have an opinion on the matter. I'm just wondering, because I can dunk. And I can jump over shit to dunk, but dunking on someone like that is a whole different animal.

I mean, I can't jump over Weis. But I'm not 6'6 with a 40+ inch vertical. I'm a 6'5, out of shape white boy.

the I can dunk so I know argument...Why are you trying to force people to believe what you believe to be the best? Every time there is an argument, you try and force your shit down people's throat because "you are always right"

the olympic dunk was actually better though imo
