Welcome back 1_beast glad you had a safe flight back to Wayne County.

As far as that stay on your own thread, I believe that would be BRF who always says that. (which he pulled tonight on some Ashland guys) haha gotta love him though!

Beast-Now that you guys have experienced Hillsdale, I'd love to hear some thoughts from you or the other Bear Faithful. I think they're actually going to take the title to Ashland county this year. If they can pull it off, I'll salute em'-40 years is a long dryspell.

Wheres all the chatter from the dysfunctional Husky Fans. Big win last night and nobodys got anything to say? I'd make a few comments but I wasn't there. Someone hit us with a report.

OrrQB-I was at the Ash/Orr game tonight. The Arrows are tough although their sportsmanship was questionable and down the road it will cost them when they run into the likes of Mentor Lake Catholic. The Riders just got handled on the lines in my opinion.
I know it was a tough loss for you guys and your angry. I get that. What I don't get is why YOU keep wanting to compare the WCAL teams to Orrville & Ashland. Nobody over here is saying the WCAL can compete with the OCC. Yet you keep bringing it up. You have every right to post over here and I welcome it personally (even though I called you a troll). But you must understand you come off as "arrogant" and "better than thou" even if you don't mean too. Good luck the rest of the way.

Red Rum, I am not angry by any means, frustrated yes because I know how we are capable of playing but not angry. Saying that though I totally agree with what you said. Ashland played very dirty football and Orrville's D-line was much smaller than Ashland's O-line, and we just couldn't get pressure on Fuller. Our defense is lights out when we do get that pressure and disturb stuff in the backfield. They had all day to throw and you can only cover a guy so long before he finds a hole in the secondary. Ashland handed it to us tonight no doubt about it and I think it was much needed IMO. Brings the players back to reality and definately gave us some things to think about, but if we don't fumble on that opening drive in the second half and score to tie it 21-21, it is a completely different ball game.

That score is also a little misleading, it was a lot closer than that score indicates. Ashland scored with a minute or so to play. Just a bunch of missed opportunities for the Riders.

Don't mean to come off arrogant or better than you. My apologies! I have seen a lot of football in my young life, probably as much as some of you older chatters. I have been to countless WCAL playoff games and support the local teams. My dad has taken me to football games ever since I was 3 years old, and we have gone to playoff games (both Friday night and Saturday night) during the playoffs, and then we go to all 6 championship games. Great times with the old man, and something I look forward to do every year with him. Saying that a lot of you guys don't think I know football because I am young, that is fine you have your opinion. But playing football for the Rittman Eagles peewee teams, to playing for Orrville, to playing college football at MU, I know football, and I enjoy talking football with guys who also know football. Hope that clears things up a bit! Wayne County has some great football tradition. Best of luck to all WCAL teams, I will be at the Dalton/Norwayne game next week.

To OrrQB, DSJ would beat most of the teams you listed above year in and year out. They are D-VI but could compete in DI & II each year.

Back to the WCAL & my opinion
Hillsdale is the real deal. Just when you focus on the run they can launch a deep route to very good 6' 5" receivers. Their line is big and tough. If they are in a 3'rd and <3 yards you will never stop them in two plays.
Norwayne is decent but my guess is that the Falcons are way too good to stub their toe against the Bobcats. Wallace won't be able to run and isn't the passer they will need to win this match-up.
NW is the only team that I think has a chance to beat Hillsdale. #1 they are in the Falcons head. They have the team speed to avoid the size of the Hillsdale lines.
Dalton will finish strong but won't win the title
Rittman is not the team I thought they would be. Even a loaded senior class is not enough to compete in the WCAL. Next year could be ugly.
Smithville gets two more wins if they get some kids healthly. Next year looks promising if Bates returns but who would blame him if he gave up football? With his bball skills I sure would.
Waynedale holding their own with a very young group of skill players. They will only get bigger, faster, stronger and more skilled. Keep the faith. The Bears will make some noise the next couple years.
Chippewa could beat the Bears next week if Waynedale thinks this will be a cakewalk. Maybe in 2-3 years they will win a game or two but I pity the new staff. Not sure they knew what they got into.

Have a great weekend all and Go Buckeyes!

Let me set something straight here on this "stay off our threads" business. I say that to those that come on to throw their darts and it is just my OPINION. The retort is always "this is a public forum and I can post wherever I want". BUT, I have the right to say stay off our threads then. And that is why I came on here to tell our fellas that we shouldn't be slinging stuff. P.S. - BRF thinks that Mr Miyagi's posts are very clever and entertaining reading!

BRF is a good Guy who keeps everything on the level with some class (no pun intended) but as the unofficial ringleader of the 44667 posters he might have his hands full with this one.

Whatever you say pal.

BRF would back me up anytime, and respects me and my football knowledge, as should most of you.

A few of these posters need to grow up a little bit, they are making me look more mature then them.

You have your opinion just like I have mine! And I don't ever remember complaining about our schedule, its actually the opposite. I love our schedule and it prepares us well for the playoffs every year.

We can agree to disagree though.

Ok and in other news we return to football.....

Dalton/Norwayne looks to be a good matchup this week, as does the Northwestern/Hillsdale game.

If Dalton can get up early, they should be in a good position to win, but their lack of depth is what really hurts them against good teams. Playcalling is also an issue in my opinion. I have seen Dalton play twice this year and I really don't get the playcalling. Something works once and then they never go back to it, then the defense stacks the box and they still run it right up the middle. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Northwestern is a very good 3-3 team, this could be an upset if Hillsdale doesn't come ready to play. I have noticed though that the Huskies do well through 2-3 quarters then it looks like they just get warned down. So depth is also and issue for NW as well, can they stay fresh and play a full game of football against a good Hillsdale team.

If there is one team in the WCAL I wouldn't count out in a big game it would be Northwestern

Ring, that's exactly right. They missed a few players early on with injuries, bit now that they are back you better come.ready to play against them.

Why I love the WCAL......by Bloody Toothbrush

I love the WCAL because I love small school football. When we get beat, we man up and take it. We don't always cry about how the other team was dirty and made us pee blood after the game. We also don't need to constantly wave our respective pedigrees around (like I know cause I played for JCU, so you must respect me). Sure, we sometimes upset each other but theres never the need to run and tell the administrators that so & so made me mad-please yell at him. LeagueChumps posse actually curb stomped me last night. They don't call me Bloody Toothbrush for nothing (that was humor-no need to report me). I am sorry if I have deeply offended any true WCAL fans, the others, I don't care.

The WCAL is really getting interesting now....2 great games coming up...Hillsdale/Northwestern & Dalton/Norwayne. Old Red Rum Dumb (sorry, more humor) was right about Rittman. They were never a contender. The Hillsdale Falcons, out in cow country (once again, no offense) are in the drivers seat. The big question now is how many WCAL teams make the show? One? or Two?

To the tattletrolls BRF & OrrQB--lets agree to just ignore each other and move on.

Let's just stick to football, which is what this site is for. I think two teams make it to week 11 this year.

Should Northwestern beat Hillsdale (fingers crossed because it makes my preseason prediction more accurate) then the WCAL gets really interesting and might put Norwayne in the driver's seat if they beat Dalton (which I hope doesn't happen to make my.preseason prediction even more legitimate).

The WCAL were amazing happens.

I told OrrQB that your lewd remark was a rule violation.
You can paint it however you wish.

I am stunned by how the wcal is going this year. It seems so strange to see two of the perennial big guns at the bottom of the heap.
