My fucking DVR just bit the damn dust and the damn cable guy can't come till Thursday morning. I am so pissed off right now. All my recordings, including Lost may be gone. The only good thing is the box still works to at least watch TV but no guide, ondemand, DVR. It will only turn on/off and change channels. Fuck You comcast!

Where I live the only other option is dish or directv but then they don't have the internet. Uverse isn't available yet in my side of the city. Comcast is my only option for now.

This is why you don't use a dvr provided by the cable company.

My DVR box has died twice and a lot of programs I haven't watched yet were lost.

You'd think there was a way to transfer what is on one box to another or switch hard drives but not in my neck of the woods.

Go to walmart, buy the HDMI cable to plug your computer into your TV. Sell cable on Ebay.

Can you even plug a comp into a Plasma?

well if you don't want this to happen again. You could always base your life around yours shows. Then you will never have to DVR them. :)

Hook the 50 inch plasma up to your computer.

I use a 32 inch as my regular monitor.

Buy a VGA cable. Plug one end of said cable into your computer and the other end into your TV. Problem solved!

Stupid ass Comcast, I wake up this morning and all is fine. It looks like they did some sort of update because I have a bunch of new features, settings, etc.... So everything works and works better actually and I didn't lose my shows. What sucks about this is no one at Comcast through my 3 phone calls knew or told me that they were doing some sore of update to the box. They just did two resets that didn't work and then set up an appointment for a tech to come out tomorrow which I now need to cancel!
