In all seriousness, we do appreciate you putting up with this shit Justin. I was concerned about this all along, and saw it coming. In fact, my first post on this site was:

I'd say so.
Shocking....I predicted something along these lines a few months ago, and was told such a case would be "laughed out of court".

Such a case likely would get laughed out of court, but to get someone laughed out of court still costs you a bunch of money.

In this case, not having a loser pays system is denying the little guy his day in court.

This.

Sure, I could fight this and I would likely win but I don't have the resources to find out. Bottom line, they know I am just one guy running this place and they are bullying me under the assumption that I don't have the money to fight it.

Looks like that assumption is correct.

Yeah, I mean, I don't know many 27 year old recently married men with a mortgage, 2 car payments and student loans that have (tens of ?) thousands of dollars in disposable income to fight a a court battle over a website that brings in very little money.

Instead of paying, why don't you just send them a threatening letter?

Don't sweat it Justin. Eventually, this site will pay off. After all, JJ started out the same way you did...just a young man with a dream and a domain name. A few years from now...you'll be able to sell this site to some corporate shmucks for a big payday. Just keep plugging along buddy...the money will be rolling in soon enough...$12 at a time!

Wrong. JJ wasnt a young guy when her started his site. The analogy does seem the same though. JJ was close to retiring as a Columbus fireman, if I am correct.

Of course, you could always counter-sue for court expenses and legal fees ;)

justin,

I agree with you about all your reasonings. With a site I used to run I was getting harassed as well. It isn't worth the money to invest in an attorney.

The people there have no life or ethical standards to bash you and your hard work.

It's a shame that some attorney who is a part of this forum doesn't step forward and represent you at no cost. Then, turn around and sue them for all the stress, having to change domain names, etc.

:)

I'd send them a letter back telling them that you'll shut this site down for a small sum of money... surely this a lawyer or two on here now that would be willing to help pro bono...

What are you complaining about Justin? Don't you know this site is worth over $200K? He's been playing us all for fools, raking in the money. :P
