Pistons at the Q to take on the Cav's at 7:00pm (Fox Ohio-ESPN)

Time to start the thread early and let the Net's thread die and hopefully the deluded comments associated with the addition of Jamison for the #30 draft pick in the upcoming draft.

Becuase they have a bunch of role players on that team with no star to carry them and no height.

I called this from the very beginning, I HATED the mix of players Joe Dumars brought in.. Well, hated in the sense that it wouldn't work, but I it didn't bother me because I'm a Cavs fan..

I do like when Detroit is good though, such a good rivalry between us and them..

They should have never let Billups go. He was the one guy from that core that was capable of carrying the team on his back.

Dumars is the most overrated general manager. Most of the decisions he's made have been terrible, yet many (on ESPN) still consider him one of the best.

Yeah, trading Billups for AI was the beginning of this Detroit free fall.

Pistons are probably my most hated team, so I would love to see nothing more than the Cavs spanking them tonight.

I used to hate them back in the bad boy days with Mahorn, Lambeer, and Rodman. But nowdays, not so much. Why should you, they stink and they don't have Sheed anymore.

It's isn't so much about them being all role players but the fact that they haven't been healthy barely at all this year. If no one had been hurt, they easily have 10 more wins and they still beat Denver without about 50 points of offense from guys being hurt. Since they have gotten everyone back, they have been playing much better. Just haven't played well in the 4th quarter the last 2 weeks (also didn't help that the C's and Knicks shot out of their mind from 3 in their last 2 games). The only 2 real bad decisions Joe Dumars has ever made was drafting Darko (which at the the time, everyone said was the right thing to do) and trading Billups. Can't argue with a guy who put together a team that won 50 games 7 years in a row and went to the conference finals 6 of those years and NBA finals twice (easily could have been 4).

My biggest disappointment has been Gordon. Outside of the first couple games of the season and then he got hurt, the offense just isn't there for some reason. Not sure if he is still fighting the nagging injury but he hasn't helped much. Rip and Tayshaun have been great since coming back and playing well. Ben has been amazing this year and looks like he did 5 years ago. Not sure if he will play tonight but hopefully he does. I like all 3 of their draft picks they got, especially Jerebko. He will be a very solid player for them over the next few years (was named rookie of the month for February).

As for the game tonight, obviously without Shaq and Z, the Pistons have a shot to try and steal one. I hope they keep it close and don't Lebron go off for 40 but a reasonable game for him. My worry is that Jamison has always for the most part played well against the Pistons but with a new team might be different. Not expecting a win but a good effort against one of the best teams in the league.

Detroit has no bigs, so it won't hurt us that there is no Z or Shaq. We'll just run right past them tonight.

For Cavs fans this summer per W&G from RCF. I got a little excited just reading what he had to say about the 2010 summer but it is just WILD SPECULATION.

First off, he stated that Gilbert is watching all the media talking up team trying to steal LeBron but Gilbert has been talking about becoming a major player this summer. He isn't going to sit back and let teams have their free shots at LeBron without doing anything.

Cleveland has plenty of favorable contracts, money, young talent with the ability to take on bad contracts.

He thinks that Cleveland's main goal this summer is to find the 2nd superstar since the Suns bluffed everyone once again.

One name he mentioned was Chris Paul, who some of us debated if he would be traded due to Collison's great play. There are other guys on the Cavaliers radar as far as big trades this summer also.

Basically, Gilbert and Ferry have been developing a plan to make a big splash this summer via trade because they do not have the open money to sign guys straight up. Their not going to sit on their hands while teams try to take LeBron away. Gilbert's wallet will be wide open once again this summer.

I love having Shaq or Z in this lineup but man is it WAY more exciting when they run with the 6 or 7 their going with right now!! Much more fast paced and exciting. I know that they are going to need a big man in the middle for the playoffs but right now it's fun to watch them get up and down the floor.

I'd love CP3 but the way LeBron has been handling the ball lately (averaging 8.6 apg this season) I'd go for a superstar 2 or big this summer if possible.

LeBron will always control the ball imo but having a star at the SG spot would be awesome.

Find it hard to believe they'd stick with Collison over CP, unless it's money issues they're concerned about. Collison has definitely played very well. Def. way to early to be thinking about a Cav team with LBJ and CP on the same roster, but that would be sick.

Not sure if it will be on the level of CP3, but I expect Cleveland to make a big move via trade this summer. The MLE will not cut it this season as so many teams will have cap space to throw more than the MLE at guys.

Also, Z may take some of the MLE if he doesn't like the BAE offered to him.

I could imagine a trade involving West, his issues appear to not have been completely resolved. He was out last game and I think is expected to not be suited for tonights game, though I've not heard specifically what the issue is. I'm assuming it has to do with the ongoing gourd issues he's had.

West is available for tonight, Gibson will not be available and will probably miss tomorrow also.

Wallace and Wilcox will both be out for the Pistons.

The great thing with West is that his contract isn't fully guaranteed, something along the lines of only 500K.

Was there anything noting why West was not dressed last game that you heard? I could find nothing that amounted to anything specific.

No, Cleveland has said they will do this from time to time with West to give him a break.

They didn't need him agains the Nets and now he'll be ready to go for the back to back.

He's played well of late, and he's affordable. I like his ability to fit with this team but I see him as a piece able to be dealt. Much like Z though I'd hate to see him go, maybe Jackson has some value :D.
