O-Trap, you did the right thing. Don't do it!!!!! Talk to someone close to you. Tell them that what you almost did. Your support system is your greatest ally.

Some great advice has been given, but the most important is that an alcoholic should never have another drink of alcohol.
You have been successful to this point... If you are struggling with the prayer aspect currently, make certain to contact any sponsor you may have. When it gets tough... try deep focus/meditation breathing techniques to relieve the stress of the moment. Controlled breathing and visualization can do miracles for one battling any addiction.
Do not go down the slippery slope of being able to handle a drink or two. I have witnessed friends lose families and lives believing this fallacy. Take the advice of those people on here that have some real life experiences... Best wishes and stay strong.
