Jimmer Fredette is a great pick, but went a round before I though he would. Simply because BYU can lose the first game they play.
My roommate last year was winning by 50 points after the first round, but only had 2 players left (out of 8) so he finished in the middle of the pack. You gotta have a combination of big time scorers and average scorers on a team that will go far, in order to win this.
My other roommate came in second place 3 or 4 years ago when NC State made it to the Sweet Sixteen as a 16 seed; he picked the starting 5 for NC State in a move that had never been attempted before and actually worked. It was when they had Julius Hodge, Andrew Brackman, Cameron Bennerman, etc. and they upset #2 seed UCONN in the 2nd round. It was a pretty sweet formula, but it rarely ever works as someone almost always picks a player or two from your team you're trying to do it with. He was able to do it b/c he took Julius Hodge first round and no one else thought NC State would do anything so they didn't pick anyone on that team.
