In Todd Porters Sunday Special, he mentions a young man from Oregon, who will be enrolling at an undetermined Stark County school.

The dad works for Diebold and has been transferred to the North Canton plant.

The young man, whos name escapes me, is a 6'4" 200lb drop back passer, and is only going to be a sophomore, and has already recieved an offer from Stanford. His brother was a QB at the University of Oregon, but transferred to Montana State.

Where will he end up?

Well, if his dad can teach, I am sure mASSillon can fit him in. Oh wait, it does not matter whether he has a teaching degree or not. His son is the right size, I'm sure they could get daddy a job!

Daddy already has a job. Since the father will work for Diebold, the son will probably attend Hoover. I can't wait to see your response if that happens.

Big Al, I realize your purpose in life is to get on people's nerves, and I must tell you that you are succeeding. You are also succeeding in making yourself look like a damn fool. Hoover has only beaten Massillon once out of many tries, and you act like you own Massillon. Let me tell you that your school can't compare with Massillon in tradition or history. We Steubenville people have the utmost respect for the Tigers. They won their so-called mythical titles by going through us, so we know how tough they were back in the day. Hoover has never won anything, on the field or in the polls, so what are you bragging about? You couldn't even beat Big Red when you had a 31-7 lead against us.

I'm still curious to know what you will say if that kid from Oregon enrolls at Hoover. The rest of us will accuse Hoover of recruiting.

Careful Fairwood, remember the rules, no accusing other schools of recruiting, but as long as you and I know the truth, we don't have to publicly say it.

Some tough choices to make, between Hoover and Massillon, on one hand, you could go to a school who has players taking "illegal substances" to school dances, beating up and robbing the pizza man, flipping off the opposing fans during a playoff game and living in the coaches basement. A coach who has had HIS run ins with the law, and fans who spray painted racial slurs on the future star players garage door....Or, you could go to Massillon.

I have a better idea. Send him to Steubenville. We just graduated our star quarterback to the U. of Toledo and we're looking for a replacement. We'll take him.

Diebold has let many workers go lately... I am surprised to hear someone is coming to Diebold instead of leaving.

Every school in Jefferson County has an open enrollment policy that covers the entire state. There is just as much chance of them taking players away from us as there is of us taking players away from them.

Yeah Fairwood, Steubenville and Massillon are in the same boat in this one. Public perception is that when a kid transfers into Mass/Steub, it's because our coaches and or fans forced them to, when they transfer out, it's because they want to better themselves.

Yes it is.

"Don’t be surprised if a highly touted quarterback from Oregon makes his way to Northeast Ohio, likely Stark County, and plays football next fall.

Kyle Kempt, a 6-foot-5, 200 pound quarterback at Aloha High School, was offered a scholarship by Stanford Head Coach Jim Harbaugh before he ever took a snap as a high school quarterback.

Kempt’s father, Mychal, is a vice president for North Canton-based Diebold and has been transferred to Ohio. The Kempts have toured a couple of high schools in Stark County.

Kempt’s older brother, Cody, is the starting quarterback at Montana State. Cody Kempt transferred to Montana State from Oregon, where he was backed up on the depth chart after an injury. He was, at one time, the Ducks’ starting quarterback.

Kyle Kempt has worked with renowned quarterback coach Bob Johnson, who runs a QB school in California."

According to the article I just posted..his father is the VP..so I'm sure they will make room at any plant he needs to be.

How does a topic about a kid moving to Stark County morph into a discussion about Steubenville? It's like a virus that you just can't get rid of.
