One of the greatest mystery's in music has finally been solved. The mystery man in Carly Simon's song your so vain has finally been revealed to be non other than record producer David Geffen!

I find it awesome that Geffen was also the topic of a Joni Mitchell song, since Carly is stating that this was written due to Joni Mitchell envy.

And Geffen is one incredibly rich dude. Talk about money to blow. Plus, he signed Nirvana, The Stone Roses (at one point), AND Sonic Youth (also, at one point.) So, for me, he's up there with the greats, as far as straight up "record" men go. He's no Berry Gordy, but he's got a fantastic resume.

I always laugh at this...youre so vain you think this song is about you.......in a round about way....isn't the song about him?
