After some horrific 1st Round beatdowns, The Inside Handshake's "What College Basketball Coach Would Win a No-Holds-Barred Streetfight" Tournament is down to its Sweet 16.
Here's some highlights of the 1st Round action:
Bob Huggins had the most impressive win with a battering of UConn's Jim Calhoun. Huggs landed an astonishing 98% of the punches in this one-sided beatdown.
Kansas State's Manic Frank Martin destroyed poor Roy Williams, landing 86% of the blows.
In another lopsided thrashing, Bo Ryan absolutely dismantled Duke's Coach K, scoring 90% of the punches. The refs couldn't help Coach K in this one as it was over before it started.
In a surprising (but not really) fight, 65-year old Jim Boeheim of Syracuse opened a can of whoop-ass on 38-year old Mick Cronin of Cincinnati.
The other lopsided win was Gary Williams destruction of Michigan's John Beilien.
Other results were Matt Painter over Bill Self, Jay Wright over Mark Few, Billy Donovan over Thad Matta, Tom Crean barely edging John Calipari, Tom Izzo over Steve Alford, Bruce Weber over Lon Kruger, Barnes over Pitino in the Battle of the Ricks, Bruce Pearl over Travis Ford, Jeff Capel over John Thompson III, Ben Howland over Tubby Smith, and Jamie Dixon nipping Sean Miller.
