It wasn't that long ago that the Poland student section came were wearing "WHITE TRASH" bags to the Poland vs Struthers game( couple of years ago) & calling the Struthers kids by the same name. If that's the case the Struthers people's memories are pretty f'n short!

Well the "fine people of struthers" would much rather see a public school win, THEN ANY PRIVATE SCHOOL, that does some "not so holy things"

The mooney student section is and was, absoulte trash at the game on wednesday. After the Poland loss, they weren't disrespectful, at all. Struthers -Poland relations are getting better in time, this will just help.

I'm predicting a huge night for the dogs.

I'm hoping that FatMatt is right and that Poland's pressure will be too much for the Cards of Mooney to overcome. Whoever wins will certainly represent the Boardman district well in the regional. Here's to hoping for a safe game for both teams and hopefully a little luck on Poland's side

I agree with most of your points bulldog, I just have a few points of my own to make. For one, Canfield should not be considered an elite team in my opinion until they can make a run in the D1 tourney. Those are the teams they should be playing, just by beating teams in lower divisions doesn't make them elite in my eyes. And you say Struthers doesn't have any big time victories, but they beat Campbell and you have them as on of the elites in the area?

Very good points made by you as well. I think this year Canfield was 4 boys over the maximum for the division 2 breakdown. Although, they were technically division 1, I think the numbers would show that they were definitely on the lower end of division 1 this year. Next year they will be back in division 2 where I think they will compete on a much higher level. I do consider them "valley" elite, only for the sake of how well they compete in this area. But you are certainly right, Canfield has yet to really go on and make some noise at regionals and/or states.

As far as Struther's win over Campbell, I completely forgot about this game. That is certainly a big time win. I just think another year or two with some big wins over Poland, Canfield, and Campbell will really open more of the local fans eyes as to how much this program is turning around. They had a stretch of bad seasons for a while and it really takes a season like this year to regain some respect. These young men certainly did that and a lot of teams have probably started to worry about what the Cats are capable of.
