I like Struthers, Mooney, Poland, and Niles in the upset. IF Niles shoots the ball well, they are a very dangerous team. Plus they have a premier scorer in Ryan Franz.bulldog8 wrote: Hubbard beat West Branch tonight 50-40 while Ravenna knocked off Salem 51-48. Looks like Hubbard vs. Struthers, Mooney vs. Ravenna, Poland vs. Ravenna Southeast, and Streetsboro vs Niles.
When has Salem "run" this whole season? Both times I watched them, they sat in a half court 2-3 defense and threw at least 15 passes until they took a shot (which they usually missed).QuakerOats wrote: I like Salem tonight if the team is allowed to run and use their athleticism.

Couldn't agree more! Good luck to your Struthers Wildcats vs. Hubbard. Hopefully we will meet up in a week or soSHSAttack wrote:I like Struthers, Mooney, Poland, and Niles in the upset. Which is precisely the reason for the post: ... "IF" the team is allowed to run and use their athleticism ............SHSAttack wrote:When has Salem "run" this whole season? Fatimus will not shoot like he does at home, with that being said, Frantz is a great shooter and Niles loves playing at boardman, Poland be weary of the upset bug!SHSAttack wrote: ^It is, anyone think the Dragons have a shot at knocking off Poland??! Close game AT Niles a few weeks ago...
I'm not so sure about this.....Fatimus had 40 at Canfield this year and had 22 points last night in their opener against Southeast at Boardman. I don't think it matters where they play, Fatimus will get his points. However, the difference in this game will be whether Niles can execute breaking Poland's press and get some easy layups in transition. That's the reason it was such a close game at Niles. I think Poland will come ready to play and come out with the same punch as when they beat Niles at home by 30+ points. I'm not saying that this game will be that lopsided, but I look for the Dogs to take care of business by 15+. Best of luck to both teams and others playing later this week!Zombienation wrote:Fatimus will not shoot like he does at home, with that being said, Frantz is a great shooter and Niles loves playing at boardman, Poland be weary of the upset bug!SHSAttack wrote: ^It is, anyone think the Dragons have a shot at knocking off Poland??! Bulldog, why not post the Tribune articles? Their writers are so much better than the Vindy's![]()

Drummonds been out nearly all season with a knee injury.futbol4ever wrote:Zombie, which part of my post was funny?Zombienation wrote:hAHAHAHAHAfutbol4ever wrote: Does anyone know if Drummond will be back for Hubbard against Struthers? He was hurt in January. The optimistic target date for his return was the Struthers game. It doesn't really matter now. By the way, I have no horse in this race. I do agree with the predictions above though.Zombienation wrote:Drummonds been out nearly all season with a knee injury.futbol4ever wrote:Zombie, which part of my post was funny?Zombienation wrote:hAHAHAHAHAfutbol4ever wrote: Does anyone know if Drummond will be back for Hubbard against Struthers? perhaps anyways!SQ_Crazies wrote: Hopefully it's finally time for a coaching change in Salem.
I think the Mooney Struthers game will be close, but I can't foresee Struthers losing this game. They will find a way to win and play for the district championship. However, I think everyone wants to see the Poland vs. Struthers rematch. I really don't think Poland would have as easy of a time with the Cats as they did earlier this season and I think it would be a great game and great atmosphere. Additionally, I think it provides the opportunity for Struthers to get the respect they deserve if they can take down the Bulldogs. No doubt that either of these teams would represent the area well at the Canton regional. Best of luck to the all the teams still remaining, particularly the Dogs and CatsZombienation wrote:perhaps anyways!SQ_Crazies wrote: Hopefully it's finally time for a coaching change in Salem.
Struthers v Mooney
Poland V Niles.
I GOT NILES PULLING THE UPSET, And The cats getting it done.
Yes it does. Hopefully we do something about it.FatMatt wrote: Watched both games tonight . . . some observations:
1) Ravenna is awful -- and the fact that they beat Salem says a lot about the Quaker program.
