Ah yes, i read that. Frantz is surely one of the best players in the area, defiantely a top scorer. And on another note, there should be a good student section showing for the Mooney-Struthers game. Mooney's section and Struthers' section got into it during the Hubbard game, with Mooney's section joining forces with Hubbard's.
I don't think it takes anything personal against someone to recognize when a player is forcing too many shots and costing his team valuable possessions. If indeed he brought the ball up the court and lifted some deep 3's without getting more ball movement for a better look then I would have to agree that this is not a very good team player. I agree with most of your points bulldog, I just have a few points of my own to make. For one, Canfield should not be considered an elite team in my opinion until they can make a run in the D1 tourney. Those are the teams they should be playing, just by beating teams in lower divisions doesn't make them elite in my eyes. Very good points made by you as well. I think this year Canfield was 4 boys over the maximum for the division 2 breakdown. Although, they were technically division 1, I think the numbers would show that they were definitely on the lower end of division 1 this year. Next year they will be back in division 2 where I think they will compete on a much higher level. I do consider them "valley" elite, only for the sake of how well they compete in this area. You're a class act SHS! Hats off to your team and those boys for their accomplishments this year. They have nothing to be ashamed of and I believe they just had an off night. They definitely have the weapons to beat anyone on any given night. I think the one thing last night was..."you live by the three, you die by the three." Struthers had a rough night shooting from beyong the arc in the first half and dug themselves into too deep a hole. They shot much better in the second half, but I think it was just a little too late. Poland has run into this problem many times -they are often very good perimeter shooting teams, but once they go up against a great defensive unit or a team with more size, they run into problems. I think this year has the potential to be the exception for the Dogs as they have the size, the athleticism, the gameplan, the shooters, and a tenacious defense. Hopefully they can take care of Mooney on Saturday and move on to Canton (some unbelievable competition will await the Boardman district champ here). It's kind of sad that it had to end like this, considering that Struthers was one of the best free throw shooting teams in the area all season and they were awful from the stripe against Mooney. I think what it came down to, is the fact that a few players from Struthers had to carry the team all game (Nate Jacubec, Adam Ryczaj) and were sucking wind when they were going to the free throw line. Also, Coach Sav ended the game with 3 T.O.'s he could've used to give his players a rest. However, I am in no way blaming anyone mentioned in this post as why Struthers lost. They were outplayed for 3/4 quarters.

Good point about Canfield. And I think Struthers will be able to compete at a high level in the years to come. They are only losing three seniors to graduation.They are also returning their three top scorers in Nate Jacubec, Jake Jacubec, and Adam Ryczaj. Poland loses their starting five and a handful of bench minutes to graduation, Canfield loses their premier scorer and big man. As far as Struther's win over Campbell, I completely forgot about this game. That is certainly a big time win. I just think another year or two with some big wins over Poland, Canfield, and Campbell will really open more of the local fans eyes as to how much this program is turning around. They had a stretch of bad seasons for a while and it really takes a season like this year to regain some respect. These young men certainly did that and a lot of teams have probably started to worry about what the Cats are capable of.
