How can you NOT see anything wrong with this!?!?! Where is the foresight in this statement?

What is their record...5-5? 5-4? What kind of bottom-of-the-barrel bowl game are going to ascend to IF THEY DO win this Saturday?

Then, maybe worse yet, they'll have the misfortune of losing to some MAC school and then things will REALLY be bad for RichRod. God forbid you try to go btter than 2-12 for the month of October!!!

It'd be better to focus on the task at hand, talk about the task at hand and take one game at a time.

Hey, but whatever. It's the state up north.
Clearly you are in way over you're head here. I would agree that 99% of what you said here is idiocy.

First off, they are 5-6.

Second, who cares what bottom-of-the-barrel bowl game they would end up in, it's still a bowl game! If you were a player on Michigan's team, wouldn't you rather play in the Little Ceasar's Pizza Bowl the day after Christmas rather than staying home and watching all the bowl games? Albeit, the game is in Detroit, but it's still a bowl game!

Third, he is focusing on the task at hand. It's the last game of the season and you need to win it to become bowl eligible. And they are taking it one game at a time, he's saying that they need to win this next game to play in a bowl game. His statement is the definition of focusing on the task at hand and taking it one game at a time.

Honestly, I really don't have an issue with this. He's not doing something stupid like guaranteeing a win, he's saying that he's going to do whatever it takes to win this Saturday and get his team to a bowl. Sure, it may not have been the smartest thing in the world to say, but I can't fault a guy for coming out and being confident and wanting to win a game over his rival.
+1. Well said sir.

Forcier doesn't quite understand the magnitude of this rivalry. He will on Saturday. Pryor didn't last year, and after the game he came away with a whole new appreciation for it. However, you cant fault him for being a leader. For better or for worse, your QB, even a freshman, is one of the leaders of your team; and he needs to be positive and have confidence which will in turn give the rest of the team confidence. What would you have him say, "yeah, we're probably going to lose??" I know if the Buckeyes were in the same situation, I would want to hear Pryor saying things like this. It lets people know they still have confidence and haven't given up on the season.

I hope we beat the crap out of Michigan, but you gotta respect a kid for keeping his head up and not letting a mediocre season discourage him from trying to keep playing and extend the season.

You really have the tact to call people a 'mental midget' after your completely stupid post comparing this to Purdue? Really?

If anything, using the Purdue example shows the opposite of what you're trying to say.

Before the Purdue game, Pryor came out and said the offense was coming along and was going to eventually explode like it's capable. OSU then laid an egg and lost to Purdue.

So if anything, bringing up Purdue only proves that talking before a game isn't very smart.

Here's your lunch box. Have a good day at school, now.

I don't get how Forcier can even begin to make these comments... he hasn't played a snap in this rivalry yet.

It really had nothing to do with the rivalry, though. I think some of you look to deep into it.

I understand what he's trying to say but I didn't think he even thought about this week, who he's playing, the magnitude of this game.

this.

I don't see scUM's offense scoring at will on our D and I don't see their D being able to man up and stop the run. Boom and Zoom have a nice day, Pryor has a couple of nice throws and we get a nice business like W.

No, those games now count; although IMO they shouldn't.

OSU is much better than ND defensively. Michigan matched up better against ND because ND's defense was just as bad as UM's. But OSU's defense is one of the best in the country, UM will have problems.

People make too big of a deal over this kinda crap, Like OSU is any more hyped up a bout the rivalry game because he said that? Highly doubt it

I think the Purdue loss actually helps OSU in this game. Now they know not to overlook anyone (they should always feel that way). The loss doesn't change anything about their season if they win this game. Outright Big 10 champs with a Rose Bowl berth. The loss could be a blessing in disguise.

Does he have enough money to buy all of his teammates tickets to a bowl game? He's just a college kid.

Forcier better make sure RR signs off on the paperwork for him to spend that much time watching film. By the way, did he say what film he would be watching???

Good for Forcier. A win here puts a muzzle on all their critics. And with Tressel running the ball on every first and second down, Michugan is quite capable of pulling off the upset.

I'm still ragged off at last week's game and the play calling.

After 3 plops into the center of the line in OT, I was actually rooting for the second string kicker to shank the 40 yarder.

A win hardly puts the muzzle on all of their critics. But it would be a step toward returning to respectability for scUM.

It would be different if it was a player that was feared or respected - not Forcier though. I'm sure it will be BB material but if it was me it would go in one ear and out the other just based who said it. If it was Pryor saying it in his freshman year then yo have something - but not Forcier

Let's see

1) Came into school with some hype but not a top 5 overall rated QB out of high school.
+ 2) Freshman
+ 3) QB of a 1-6 Big Ten Team
+ 4) Losers of 6 of their last 7
+ 5) Playing Rival that has owned them over the last 6 years

= It doesn't really matter what he says!!!
