Port Clinton definitely deserved to be in the final game and was in it until the last half of the 4th quarter. Terrific season Redskins. Have a great parade back home for this outstanding basketball team. Dunbar had a great year also. Congratulations to them as well.

I have to say, I'm very impressed with PC. They definitely deserved to be there.. Didn't quite have the athleticism to hang with Dunbar though.

I still cannot figure how PC stayed in that game. Dunbar should have beat them by a good bit. PC just did not have the good ball handling guards to deal with Dunbar's tremendous press.

It was not a guard issue. The issue was the spacing was so far apart the Dunbar speed made it easy to get in cat and mouse position. The coach left his good little point quard out to dry. The guys in the deep corners never came from behind the defense to the middle to help and attack. The also could have come up and set some high screens to get the point some space to see the floor. For a team that had not lost a game had no clue on how to attack the pressure. I would have thought they would have gotten a lot of easy layups. But Dunbar is really good so they put the fear in this team./wes_mantooth wrote: I still cannot figure how PC stayed in that game. Dunbar should have beat them by a good bit. What team do you coach? How far did your team make it this season?!?sports_talk wrote:It was not a guard issue. So you disagree do you. How many coaches have Port Clintons talent????? Please just understand the comments. My guess they have not played against pressure as good as Dunbar. PC only had one guy handle the ball. Wonder why?bucks36 wrote:What team do you coach? How far did your team make it this season?!?sports_talk wrote:It was not a guard issue. Actually let me add that if they would have handle the rock better they had the talent to win it. Sure it is easy from my seat. Just my observation. I did follow a team that was there. They got smoked. But it was due to just being outmatched. Just the way it goes.

Yeah, the spacing was not very good at all. I did feel bad for their PG, he was basically trying to beat the press by himself. I had always been taught that you beat a press like that by passing, not dribbling, but in fairness to PC.....Dunbar was more athletic than any team I ever played against.sports_talk wrote:It was not a guard issue. Nobody did beat Port Clinton until the final game of the season. Perhaps Perkins would like an after season scrimmage to play them for the 4th time? Just too bad PC didn't have another ball handler but there isn't another high school in the town of 6,000 to get transfers. I will remember the rest of my life Allen Tigner's last second shot to beat Zanesville in the semifinal. The most remembered shot in PC history. What a ride on the tournament trail. Thanks team.

Yup I have to admit I never saw this coming. I figured PC would be solid I never predicted this type of a run. I gotta give them props they knew how to get it done

Erie: Win with some grace. No need to take a potshot at Perkins. They had a 3-4 point lead on P.C. with 2-3 minutes to go in the Sectional Final....the SECTIONAL FINAL!!! You had a nice run, but there's NO reason to be smug about it. A little less luck or a twist of fate (or a knee), and the Redskins may have never made it to the Districts.
P.C. actually DID have a transfer.......OUT of their school district, 2 years ago....and he was quite possibly their best basketball player (as I'm sure that you are aware of). Can you say, addition by subtraction?
Congrats 'Skins on a great year.
