Ever think teams won't play Florida because they are afraid of getting drilled like UC??

I know FOR a fact the Jeremey Foley has contacted several Big 10 and ACC teams(including Ohio State) and they ALL declined.

When Penn State joined the Big Ten everyone said they would dominate the conference. How has that worked out?

This would be a little bit different

Paterno had done more there than Brown has done at Texas.
Oh really,sure about that??
These stats are since Mack Brown became the Texas coach

Texas
1998-2009
128–27 overall record
80–16 conference record
8-4 Bowl Record
4-1 BCS Bowl Record
2 BCS Title Game Apperances
1 BCS National Championship
2 Big 12 Titles
21 Consecutive Big 12 Wins fron 04-06
1 Heisman Trophy
3 Maxwell Awards
2 Davey O'Brien Awards
2 Doak Walker Awards
1 Butkus Award
2 Thorpe Awards
4 National POY Awards
23 All Americans
37 1st Team Big 12 Selections
9 Consecutive 10 win season

Want to rethink that statement
Paterno had 2 National Championships, 4 undefeated seasons, 4 National Coach of the Year honors, 228-63 record and a bowl record of 14-8-1. He also had a team ranked in the final AP top 10 16 years.

JoePa has also been a head coach for 20+ more years the Mack Brown too

That doesn't mean they were afraid. OSU has their big OOC game scheduled until like 2020.

I like you.

BUT I was under the impression that Foley's ONLY availabe dates didn't work for OSU. I think they were looking at setting something up further down the road. OSU is trying to step up and play 1 BCS team OOC every year. I think UF will have OSU scheduled for a regular season game soon.

So? You are trying to say that Mack Brown had done more at Texas until now than Joe Pa had done at Penn State when they joined the Big Ten.

Foley offered Ohio State a home-and-home with the Florida home game being in Jacksonville and Ohio State had the choice of Columbus,Cleveland,or Cincinnati

Florida did everything they could and Ohio State still wouldn't do it.
Makes me wonder

Because OSU has their big game scheduled until 2020. He was offering sooner than that.

When? What year? Who would OSU have to move?

OSU won't be playing Florida anywhere other than the Shoe for obvious reasons.

I heard (strictly rumor) that the home and home with UF would start in 2012. Which is the year that OSU is playing UC and Cal.

So you are saying that if you were a real estate agent and had sold 100 houses and $1 million over 5 years that you would have been close to accomplishing what a guy who has been doing it for 20 years and sold 500 houses totaling $8 million?

Not the case at all.

Why wouldn't Ohio State-Florida play in their home stadiums? Wouldn't that be half the fun? Who wants to play a big time college game in some generic pro stadium?

so why would they dump that game for UF? Why doesn;t the AD of UF step up and offer 2020 and 2021? Maybe they are ducking OSU?

UF is the one who offered....we aren't ducking anybody

Ummm...because it would be a much better game(maybe) and a MASSIVE TV draw?

I know for a fact that UF has offered these teams and they have all turned down(with the possible exception of ND,they are working on a Home-and-Home for 2012-2013):

Ohio State
Texas
OU
Georgia Tech
Clemson
Michigan

Hell we don't even know the details. The buyout with Cal could be so tremendous that it wouldn't make sense to cancel it no matter who wanted to play.

Florida needs to get in line and take the Bucks when OSU has availability.

UF gets no "special consideration"

So, OSU is ducking UF because UF offers them a series when OSU already has an OOC series set up and no one knows the details of what the buyout would be?

OSU's football program funds the whole athletic department, if they were to lose money on the deal (which could be the case with a giant buyout no matter what the tv revenue would be) then they won't do it.

OK chief.

Lets make a list of the reasons for replacing Cal with UF:

1.Built In Rivalry
2.MASSIVE TV draw
3.Much better game

Only reason for them NOT scheduling UF is they want an easy win and and are afraid they would get crushed much like the '06 BCS Title Game

I'll buy that the others may be ducking UF, but OSU isn't they just had a prior contract in place. Like I said, it doesn't make sense to duck UF. Win or lose both parties are set to make a fortune off of it.

Dump UC and pick up Florida...it seems like a no-brainer....except OSU wouldn't dare schedule two "real teams" in the same season....no way they'd play both Cal and Florida. That might mean cancelling our annual MAC drubbing that Tress seems to be such a fan of.
