Michael Floyd said he's registered for spring classes at #NotreDame and said, "Right now I’m staying here and will be here next year."
At least it is still an option for him to come back...I'd prefer to not see the "right now" in his quote but what can ya do?

BK also said today he wants David Ruffer back for a 5th year, Ruffer says he wants to come back but it wouldn't make financial sense without a scholarship.

Kansas DE/OLB Shane Ray has made up his mind on ND vs. Missouri. http://tiny.cc/1kiif
The link is pay to read so I have no idea what he decided or if he has made his decision public.

He's staying at Missouri. Not surprised, his dad played there.

Also, if David Ruffer isn't on the team next year but Montana is and still on scholarship, I will be deeply disappointed.

Also also. Ohio DE Chase Hounshell, a current Florida commit, took an OV to Notre Dame. He also paid on his own dime to go to their camp. Word on the interwebz is he wants an Irish offer. Kelly is known for holding offers until he sees a recruit in person, so I think we'll see something happen here.

I do like that the staff is so active and their recruits are rather numerous. One guy falls through, and Notre Dame is talking to three more. Weis' staff, as clutch as they often were, got caught with their pants down on more than one occasion on signing day with no backup plans when recruits did what recruits do.

I'm not at all ready to say Kelly is a better recruiter than Weis, but he certainly is better than plenty of people thought he would be.

Also also also,
Some of the bowl practices are more tilted toward 2011 than they are for the actual Sun Bowl game. Friday's scrimmage was one of those eye-on-the-future sessions.

Among the freshman standouts, according to Kelly, were nose guard Louis Nix and linebacker Kendall Moore on defense; wide receiver Daniel Smith of South Bend Clay, running back Cam Roberson and quarterback Andrew Hendrix on offense.

“It was nice to see those guys go out and play pretty fast,” Kelly said. “It was not, ‘Oh my goodness, what a mess this is.' It was a good tempo.”
Louis Nix needs to be Mr. Studly from day one next season for the defense to possibly jump from good to great. Andrew Hendrix could very well be the starter and QB is the only position on offense to worry about production from offensively in 2011. Those two guys are crucial for success and it's great to see them stand out in bowl practices. I honesty expect Kelly to use QB by committee, with Hendrix and Golson being the main two. But Crist keeps hanging around and his knowledge of the offense may prove invaluable.

I fear a Tommy Rees 4 year stretch.

Absolutely not. There is about a 1% chance of that happening. Don't get me wrong, I like how he reads a defense and plays smartly. But he is not what Brian Kelly wants.

Brooklyn OLB Ishaq Williams tells ISD that Miami will not be one of his finalists. He's still down to ND, Syracuse & Penn State.

I'd really have to think its down to ND and Penn State.

Shouldn't a decision be coming soon? I believe he will be an early enrollee.

BTW, there are plenty of rumors saying he is a silent verbal to ND. I would be shocked if he went elsewhere.

Both of his parents went to Syracuse, it is the local school (sort of), he grew up an Orange fan, and their program qualifies as "on the rise." Syracuse is still very much in this.

I thought he was announcing for the Army All-American game, January 11ish.

When does the semester start at Notre Dame??? lol

Just looked, classes don't start until the 18th so that will give him a solid week to get some classes schedule and moved into his dorm if he decides on the Irish. And actually the Army AA game is the 8th. 10 days sounds even better.

I liked how Brian Kelly basically said good luck to Dayne Crist as far as competing for the job next year. I don't think he gives a shit if Crist doesn't start, this offense isn't meant for a gimp.

I agree. If we wins the job back outright, so be it - but I highly doubt it happens. Kelly isn't the type of coach to express loyality to certain players. He will put the best person out there regardless of age and name.

On a side note, anyone see Tuitt scheduled a visit at Auburn? That would really suck to lose him. He's easily the best defensive recruit in this class.

Yeah I saw that. I put my status as "I hope Stephon Tuitt's visit to Auburn goes about as poorly as possible."

...then I remember I got drunk and friend requested him and a bunch of the recruits a week ago and I come back to my facebook to see "Stephon Tuitt has accepted your friend request" hahaha awwwkwwardddd.

That said, if he left I would cry. But I don't think he's leaving. I've read they want him as an OT, and he prefers DE. Also apparently he went with his friend as a tag-along, so not necessarily out of his own complete interest.

.....Ishaq Williams has canceled OV to Penn State, but they did an in-home visit instead. This is between Syracuse and Notre Dame in my opinion.

Very good article on how Kelly will absolutely transform the offense we see now within the next year or so. Exciting stuff. He's 30-0 with his three quarterbacks whose completions ratings were up to snuff. Tells me Crist isn't accurate enough for him. Said in the article 60% of passes need to be completed or it's disaster, Crist completes 59%. haha Rees looks so much better at 63%, what will the offense look at 70% (Cincinnati's Collaros completed 75%) completion?

2011 NJ WR Miles Shuler has committed to Rutgers. He was also considering Notre Dame and Northwestern.
Rutgers? Are you kidding me?

Fucking sucks. Shuler said he was going to go to Rutgers if they signed other big time athletes. Look for a Huggins commitment soon. Fucking bullshit.

Wayne Lyons, the terrific safety from Florida, put Notre Dame in his top four. Notre Dame, Nebraska, UCLA, and Michigan. I think Michigan and Nebraska lead, but Stanford not being in there is rather shocking. Everyone considered him a lock for Palo Alto.

Stephon Tuitt tells Rivals that he remains in the #NotreDame commitment column after his Auburn official visit. #BrianKellyDancesTheJig
More from Tuitt: "I'm still committed to Notre Dame, but I am looking around. A school would have to sweep me off my feet ...
... if they did that I have a feeling I'd move them to the top. I just have to make sure about my decision, because Signing Day ...
..is right around the corner. I'll probably take one more visit to Georgia Tech after the bowl game.
"I'd switch my commitment if the feeling was right, but I think I probably won't be switching."

NSD can't get here soon enough...
